About Art Frames
At Art Frames we specialise in custom picturing framing. We pride ourselves on the care and attention we give to your artwork and precious things. Our team's backgrounds include fine art, photography and history. We have been trained to take proper care of your pieces.
Art Frames has been custom framing from its spacious, professionally equipped workshop on Kenepuru Drive in Porirua, Wellington since the early 1980’s. With such a long history there is not much that we haven’t framed, and today we are still designing innovative and creative framing solutions for everything from traditional to contemporary art and objects. We prefer to use the best in conservation quality materials sourced from New Zealand and around the world and use the latest in modern picture framing technology.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Roger from Art Frames framed my recently departed wife's portrait, after it sat for more than 20 years without a frame, and the result absolutely blew me away.
The entire process, from start to finish was a consultative and collaborative effort with Roger providing his passion and expertise to guide me into choosing the right frame and making the right decisions to benefit the portrait and the end result.
What he created with the frame and the portrait I could not ever has envisioned, and it truly is a masterpiece.
Roger is truly passionate about his work and the people he engages with, and it shows. He creates masterpieces with his frames which are exponentially greater than the sum of the parts.
I highly recommend Art Frames and will use them any day

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ No Sense of Urgency. I had been looking forward to the framed print which was going to be a present. They were helpful and I was very happy with the frame I selected on the 1st of March that I decided to make the full payment at that point. Unfortunately, it all ended there. I knew it would take about 6 weeks given they had a huge backlog of work. But after 7 weeks (by the 16th of April), I learned they hadn't even ordered the material and I was told this was due to a system error. The thing is, on the 5th week (3rd of April), I emailed them asking for an update but did not get a response. Had they bothered to read and respond, they would have picked up the issue and rectified it. When I finally dropped by on the 7th week, they flatly explained "these things happen, there was never any assurance on the dates". Very disappointed not just with the system error but the poor communication. I sympathise with their issue around backlogs and shipments from overseas due to covid. But this particular problem was not totally unavoidable. I have collected the print and am awaiting the refund. I wished this was a positive outcome for both sides. But I just wasted 7 weeks with them.

Always on time and when they can’t make a deadline (only due to Covid most recently) they keep us updated constantly.
