My mother in law who is vegetarian requested for hummus and bread.
The owner or manager seeing this later brought for her some Aubergine ir Eggplant dish which was not on the menu. He said he had cooked this for himself. So considerate.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Still by far the best Turkish restaurant, fresh food, tasty and good portion sizes. Kebabs, Iskander, Pita, Lamb Shanks, Salad, Baklava, Deserts. Fries....all to die for. A definite pitstop for any resident or visitor to Whakatane!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Don't be deceived by outward appearances. This place punches way above its weight. Accommodated 10 people group with ease, food was brilliant and service is the best. The owner is an amazing and generous person who surprises customers with extras. The garlic bread and iskender is recommended. Try the semolina cake.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely little place. Their food is very good value for money. The staff are pretty friendly and down to earth. I had the lamb shank and this was excellently done. Even just the single shank was enough to 2 meals. Their online ordering makes the process a lot easier as they can get quite busy.
