We went to The Comm for dinner lastnight and we had the best time. The customer service was the best I have ever experienced at any restaurant and the food was delicious. Will definitely be coming back!

No complaints about food or service but menus were disgusting - really dirty and stained - complained to both a staff member and Manager and were told by both that they were due to be replaced tomorrow but they were left on our table. But what really astounded us was that a customer brought his meal back (for what reason we have no idea) - this was eventually handed to the Manager who placed it on the end of the bar and we saw at least four staff members eating off this plate in full view of the customers. Commented to another staff member about this when paying and told they didn’t want to send it back to the kitchen! Wow - red traffic light setting! Not good enough Good George. Don’t believe in placing bad feedback without advising staff directly, but your responses were just not good enough.

Nice Sunny day sitting outside The Commercial with. Beer and food. Dog friendly, great service staff, well appointed indoors if you choose to sit there and a very clean and tidy establishment.

*Long Post* On the 3rd I went for brunch with my family of 4 for my birthday, The 2 Burger Kids Meals had drink, sundae and a little activity bag included, kids enjoyed that. Beef Burger main was a generous meal and came with a large drink also, my tender & flavourful Twice Cooked Pork Belly looked like it was just thrown on top of a massive serving of chips( which were yummy) instead of what was suppose to be Potato Gratin which was on the menu & the slaw really was quite bland. Seafood Platter was below average, Ceviche was nice the Thai Sauce on Mussels was also nice, salmon ok but although the squid was cooked so beautifully tender it was so heavily seasoned it was inedible even after taking off the salt & pepper coating. Staff were amazing from the moment you scan in, to the moment you leave. And the whole ambience of the restaurant/bar is really nice. Overall servings sizes with each meal were large because they came with so much fries. We don't eat out at a restaurant as a family very often so I didn't want to complain on what should be a stress free day. But for $134.00 I really don't think it was worth it.

Really tasty food guys! You have nailed your iced coffees. Few tips though, it would be great if you brought some bigger local mussels (whakatohia?) would be happy to pay more for local ingredients. The main thing that knocked you down a start was the amount of flies!!! There were swarms of them where we were sitting! Very gross and made for a not so great dining experience.

Meals were fast and tasty.Pizzas were great and had a lovely base. The staff were attentive and meal checked and also checked for drink reorders often. Lovely waitress also provided colouring packs for our children. We will be back.

Our first visit since opening and we were most impressed. Great service, friendly and attentive. Great menu catering for all palettes and a really warm and inviting ambience. So nice to see the old building brought back to life. The food was well presented and quick to arrive at our table. Highly recommend! Thank you
