β β β β β I'm not sure if the shower is any good as the installer keeps failing to show up the only work he has done took a couple of hours and then gone. I've taken a day off from work only to have a text at 9:20 to say he's not coming...

β β β β β We built a new house which had an Athena bath installed. The bath was hardly used and began cracking badly around the drainage hole. Athena viewed the bath and advised us that we had either used the wrong cleaning product or we had the water too hot, no warranty, your problem. Our children used the bath occasionally so the water was never hot, and in terms of cleaning, we just wiped the bath as it was hardly used. We have never had problems with baths before, many of which were in older homes. What a terrible experience with Athena. We will never use their products again.

β β β β β Very unprofessional and horrible customer service. The vanity I received come with different drawer design than the one I saw in the showroom. And retailer told me that Athena said the one in showroom was older model and Athena is refused to fix it. My friend order same model of vanity just a month ago, but their vanity come with correct drawer design. This is the service I got after spend few thousand dollars to buy their products. I think everyone should file consumer complaints if they have issue with Athena.

β β β β β This is a review of an Athena acrylic shower (not sure the model) and drain (an Easy Clean Waste) which we inherited with the house we bought. These are terrible quality. The house was only 7 or 8 years old when the base was starting to crack badly, numerous fine cracks, and we opted to get it resurfaced to make sure it wasn't leaking through to floor underneath. Terrible decision on our part as that process was very problematic (don't do it!), but was super disappointing to be in that position with a shower that young. The bath appears to be the same brand and it has the same problem.
In terms of the drain/waste, we have never had so much clogging of a shower drain/waste in our lives, not even the hairiest of housemates in the dodgiest of share houses comes close. The design is the exact opposite of "easy clean." It's extremely effective at catching all of the hair, which means cleaning it more often, while at the same time being exceptionally difficult to clean out. To untangle all the hair from the lid properly requires a screwdriver to disassemble the two parts. The waste lid also has a metal coating which has started to come away from the plastic, meaning it's very easy to slice your hand, which we learnt the hard way.
At the same time, because the design is meant to do away with a u-bend, when the lid has been pulled out for cleaning, the stench from the drain fills the bathroom and then the rest of the house. The cup below that catches the rest of the hair and slime needs emptying, but it's so jammed in that half the time it needs a pair of pliers to get it out.
Could not recommend avoiding these products strongly enough.
