★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We enrolled our eldest child (aged 8) in the kids classes about a year ago. Football/Soccer wasn’t for him and he indicated an interest in learning martial arts. I didn’t know how he would get on and whether it might just be a passing fancy, which children are well known for.
The school is family run (Husband, Wife and Son combo) and right from the start I’ve been impressed by the balance between an inclusive, nurturing and compassionate, but disciplined, environment. Our son has absolutely flourished here in terms of confidence and self-discipline.
I’ve been so impressed I decided to get involved myself after hanging up my football boots for good and we’ve recently got our youngest involved too. I like the combination of stand up/ground fighting that retains many of the elements of traditional martial arts training. Nothing like your 8 year old jumping on you and putting you in an armbar after a long day at work…
A wonderful environment for young and old alike. Highly recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’ve come in recently from another related Kenpo system. Things to note and first impressions;
I immediately felt welcomed into the school and felt very looked after. Its very much a judgement free zone where people are pushing each other to get better, no egos on the mat, which is always promising to see at any Martial Arts school.
The instructors are friendly, knowledgeable and I think the key thing that I really loved is that they jump on the mat with their students. There is no us and them, its a collective “us” during training. My only regret is that the covid pandemic prevented me from coming here sooner.
