★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ava Lodge is my 'go too' motel when on business in Wgtn. The Team incliding the Housekeepers are responsive friendly and welcoming and always keen to get suggestions. The motel is kept in outstanding order and it is always a pleasure to stay here. I highly recommend the Ava Lodge Team they understand the real meaning of customer service. Thank you Ava Lodge. ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stayed in this motor lodge regularly for quite a few years before retiring down to South Island, and we really miss the qualities of this accommodation. Particularly during the transfer my wife & I had to stay in quite a few motels on the route to Dunedin to settle, and I have to say none of them are up to the standards of Ava Lodge. We miss the helpful hosts, their always clean rooms & cozy furnishing. Ava Lodge = Quality Accommodation

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was looking for a new place to stay as I travel a lot for work. From the pictures it looked modern and ticked the boxes for what I needed. On arrival though my bathroom looked absoltly nothing like the pictures on line and there was a shared 2 x3 metre open but fenced courtyard with people
vaping/smoking literally 1 metre away from your other door/window. Room was clean though.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Thank you for a wonderful stay. We had a change of arrangement in short notice and Christine was accommodating. We arrived late due to flight delay and the communication was clear to how to access to the key through the lockbox. The room was clean and warm on arrival. Will stay at Ava Lodge again if we need to come to Lower Hutt again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stayed 3 nights in the 2-bedroom apartment - it is very clean and has pretty much all you need. Also extremely handy to get around, close to the beach, Jackson Street and still only a short trip into Wellington. House keeping staff is wonderful!!
Just a few minor issues we found - the sofa in the 2-bedroom apartment is not adequate for 4 people, if you all want to sit and watch TV and a little coffee table would be great. Also some hooks in the bathroom would be handy. I was disappointed that we paid a premium to stay during the first week in January, however all the shops and some restaurants on Jackson Street are closed until the second week of January. The proximity to Jackson Street is one of the big advantages of this Lodge.
But overall we would definitely stay again.
