★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Back in NZ and visiting a friend - needed a nice place to eat away from the madness of a “shopping mall” cafe. Remembered this place from working nearby over 10yrs ago and it was still as good now as it was back then.
Clean, quiet and the food was an absolute hit! Try their Beef Burger & Chips - great taste, awesome value and very affordable. Definitely will be visiting before I leave NZ.

However........went for the special brunch offer only to be told that as we had paid 10 minutes after special ended it was now full price. Had they had more than one chef cooking it may not have taken so long to eat. When we challenged the price the manager was argumentative
and got stroppy with us.They did honour the special but it left a sour taste - not sure if I'll go back

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went in for $12 brunch which goes until 2. Arrived before 1pm, food took ages, when we finally finished eating at 2:06pm they said the $12 brunch had ended and we had to pay normal price, even though we ordered our food at 1. A bit of clarity around that beforehand would’ve been appreciated, the staff could have also said “would you like to pay soon” as it got close to 2 since when we booked it was for the brunch deal which was confirmed again with staff on our arrival. After a big discussion the discount was applied.
Besides that, the waffles were amazing, the steak was rarer than ordered, and they’d had a big event the night before so they had run out of many drink options (at the garden BAR).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The unit was clean however the electric blanket didn't work, there were lights that didn't work, there was no lighting on the outside stairs to the unit (pretty darn dangerous in the dark) we were greeted to dirty crockery, rubbish and full ashtrays out side the unit, There was only 1 cup and 1 glass, yet the room was designed for three and the yelling, swearing and arguing during the night reminded us of 'once were warriors! Restaurant was closed at 7 and in the morning. We stayed 2 nights 150 per night! No refill of coffee, clean towels or room for the second ?
