★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Technically I didn’t stay, so can’t comment on the motel itself, my review is slightly different. My Dad was taken into Thames hospital from the Coromandel, and at the last minute, I had to book a room for my Mum in case she was able to leave the hospital to get some rest. I booked the room at 9:30pm on a Monday night. The manager was helpful, but in the end my mother couldn’t get away from the hospital, and didn’t end up staying. I was charged the full amount for the room despite the fact that she didn’t stay, and that there is no way they would have rented the room at that time of the night to anyone else. I understand hotel/motel booking rules, but under the circumstances thought perhaps a partial refund would have been appropriate, and if that had been the case both the motel owner and I would have came away feeling good about the situation. Instead I feel a bit disappointed after what was already a difficult evening for our family.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We really loved our stay. The room was clean, comfy, cozy, spacious and quiet. It was in handy central location yet in a nice nature setting. We had a great space to do our morning exersize and the swimming pool was a great bonus for a quick refreshing swim afterwards.
The owner was very nice and caring!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice pool and clean rooms. Very budget level of comfort in rooms but not a budget price to match. The smallest, cheapest possible tv. Tacky room decorations. To get from upstairs rooms to pool, you have to squeeze past through a service area and across broken concrete, which is weird because the rest of the gardens are absolutely beautiful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If I could give this more than 4 stars I would. We love our weekend trips away and do them quite often, so far Avalon Motel is the nice one we have stayed at in a really long time. It’s spacious for our family of four, very clean and tidy and the bed are comfortable. The staff we really friendly. We will definitely be back! Thanks ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very impressed. We called late to book in. The owner stayed up for our arrival and couldn't have been friendlier. He had turned the heater on in our unit and everything was ready. Very comfortable. Highly recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wow! What a great effort they have put into the outside garden of this motel. Outside pool, clean and inviting. Next time i will choose a down stairs garden room that opens up to the view of summer flowers, bushes and trees. Rooms are air conditioned, clean and spacious designed for couples. Access to main street is in 2 mins walking distance. Great venue recommend.
