About AWOL Canyoning Adventures
Our staff are all passionate about the outdoors and are highly qualified and experienced in a variety of different adventure activities, they are fun, friendly and above all else safety conscious.
A lot of hard work has got these skilled guides to where they are now, if you think you’ve got what it takes to join our team please send your cover letter and CV with your qualifications to [email protected]
You need to have ropes, white water, first aid, previous guiding experience (not necessarily as a canyoning guide, but preferred) and you must hold a current New Zealand P Licence. You will also need to be able to dedicate some serious time to pre-season training and be in Auckland and available throughout the summer months (Nov-Mar).

β β β β β Shout out to Cam! we had a mint day out abseiling down kite kite waterfalls and climbing through the rock falls on the way down. Cam had good knowledge about the area and was good value through out the trip, highly recommend!!

β β β β β This was a really great day. We had a couple of awesome guides, and a lot of fun. The actual canyoning was around four hours, which was perfect for the day.
Euan, our main guide, was excellent. Couldn't have asked for a better guide.
Highly recommended if youβre after a bit of outdoor fun in Auckland during the summer.

We did the tour just at the beginning of winter- not too cold or scary, just pure fun :) Heads up- could involve squeezing yourself through tight spaces and/or cliff jumps. Well recommended for all of us adrenaline junkies ?

β β β β β BEST EXPERIENCE FOR THE FAMILY !!! Kids & I went out with Euan. SO professional. Met at the Sky City hotel, took a 45min bus ride to Piha and commenced the adventure. Euan ran through the ropes of abseiling and safety. We donned out thick wetsuits harness and helmets, headed up a hill for 10min then commenced the canyoning. At all times we all felt very safe warm and excited ! The abseil down the waterfall was AMAZING !!!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND IF YOU VISIT AUCKLAND !!!!
