★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Reminded me of the real Bendigo with all the Eucalypts. Plenty of parking spots, all with a good view of some mountains, and a heap of sheep farms and winerys, if thats your thing.
Theres also some toilets. This is probably about as close as youll get to freecamping in wanaka.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place to pull off the road and rest, decent sized freedom camping spot with toilets. Magnificent views of Lake Dunstan and Mt Pisa. Only downside is the frost turbines that go all night in the surrounding orchards and vineyards

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really nice camping spot right by the lake. And it's free!! Plenty of toilets on site and they are clean. Really nice spot for stargazing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great freedom camp, men and women's flush toilets and two more not flushing, but good toilets. Rubbish bins at the toilets But if they are full take your rubbish out with you. Great if you want to freshen up with a swim as your right next to the lake. Boat ramp at the toilet end of the reserve. A great stop over.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Its free which is great. You have a really good view of the lake and mountains behind it. There are toilets spread throughout the camp so you don't have to walk to far to find one.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is my to go place when visiting Wanaka/Queenstown or any nearby town. About 30-60 minutes drive away from great towns. They do have toilet and wifi too! Youll get noise at night as it is beside the highway but its easy to find. Be careful when turning right if coming from the other side of the road. Plenty of space to park and camp. Been here twice, summer and winter. Summer was a bit full but can manange to fit and winter you'll see 0-3 other freedom campers. Photos were taken mid winter.
