My sister encountered an unfortunate accident and broke her ankle whilst participating in one of the programmes. We provided feedback on areas of improvement for the organisation - particularlyΒ regarding the safety of participants, communication to parents and the overall coordination of the programme. The rather defensive and unapologetic response my family received was quite disheartening.

Horrible experience, do not recommend at all. My siblings and I have partaken in both William Pike and the Duke of Edinburgh award, both of which are organised by Bigfoot Adventures. Over the past couple of years I have only encountered horribly rude, unexperienced staff. They constantly made rude comments and were extremely unprofessional, and did not seem to know what they were doing. My team mates also mentioned how uncomfortable they felt around the staff. I have noticed that Bigfoot do not own up to their mistakes and lack empathy towards people who pay them hundreds of dollars. The course itself is not worth the money paid at all, they are unorganised and never seem to have a set plan. My younger sister recently completed her bronze qualifying journey and had an awful experience. Her instructor took them off route and could not find their way out, getting her and her friends stuck in the forest. Two team mates were injured, one from breaking a bone and the other from an allergic reaction to an insect sting. The first aid kit was missing the needed equipment. My sister found the situation very upsetting and distressing. These are just a few of the many reasons why I dislike Bigfoot Adventures. I would definitely not recommend this business to anyone, and as I currently finish my gold award I am grateful that I will soon no longer have to be alongside Bigfoot.

hires staff as contractors but actually they are employees as they have requirements which contractors would not have to adhere too. pays staff badly too. would not recommend, much better companies to work for out there.

I was very disappointed by their irresponsible attitudes. My daughter was in the Duke of Edinburg program, staying in the Mahurangi regional park. There was really heavy rains and thunderstorms. I called Bigfoot to see if my daughter was fine. The staff did not know anything about then current status of the program. She refused to contact their on-site staff, nor to try to reach out the program coach, did not show any empathy on parents' concerns. She just told me that she assumed they are all fine. So unprofessional services!
