β β β β β Is it fair you only cater to rich and normal pregnancy why is that I wonder am I deserve of having the best experience for a baby no because I'm embarrassed to say I'm poor there are woman who wish to use your facility but being high risk they won't unfair treatment if you ask me separating the pohara to riches

β β β β β My wife and I had a private room and found the experience very helpful in our transition to parenthood.
There was a mixed bag when it came to the staff in regards to their approach and advice. The handover between midwives made it hard to get consistent advice as each had their own opinions, sensitivities and personal approaches. We found some were short and abrupt and others to be very empathic and caring. Robin was one of the latter and she is highly recommended.
Also found there were times where the staff did seem stretched which may have impacted their ability to spend time addressing questions, concerns, and provided guidance.

β β β β β We had a great experience at Birthcare. The midwives were very supportive and everytime when we needed their help they came in within minutes. My wife and I really liked a couple of midwives Mary and the one with the British accent who were the most helpful. They did an excellent job helping with breastfeeding and explaining how to bath a baby. Also, I really appreciate how upon our checkout they checked a capsule to make sure the baby is all safe in it and explained us how to adjust the straps and gave a good advise on how to make the baby in her capsule even more safe during transportation. And because we had a private room I could visit my wife at anytime.

β β β β β This is my first day here in Birthcare. I really would like to share that this place seems very depressing to me. After going through a awesome experience of giving birth to my son and coming to this type of place for care made my heart cry. The private room that cost 475 NZD is so small and depressing that I just want to go home right now. Its not about money or feeling home sick...but really this place is definitely not for care. I am staying in very small room thatbthey call private room, with my new born baby and my husband. I mean how can they think a women who is coming from such a beautiful but yet painful experience and staying in a room where you don't have space to be comfortable. I mean i can not express my disappointment about this place...but I will never rececomend this place...i mean if you have the option which i dont have, I will never come here.

β β β β β Our experience at birth care was excellent and all the midwives are very kind and professional.specially I want to thank Midwife Ann Standing.she looked after me and my baby most of the time at birth care and she is full of knowledge and kindness.she will come within 5 mins to help everytime I rang her.as first time parents we were new to the subject and birth care made our first few days very easy and left with confidence. As its locked down time our parents couldn't come ,but Ann was like a mother to us ,helping and encouraging us with everything. I give a big hug to Ann and a thank all the other midwives and the rest of the staff, receptionist and food service.
Highly recommend this place to new parents.

β β β β β Midwife support is good while not all are nice. Please remember new parents need to be explained with patience.
Paid $100 night and $25 for a serve basic food but had to sleep on floor the beds have done past itβs life the one I had tilts soo bad you feel one sided but worst about it was it makes such sharp spring noises that doesnβt let tired parents sleep nor the baby.
Asked for replacement bed but was told thatβs how all beds are; I do see itβs not the midwife fault but management needs a tap on head

β β β β β Our stay at birthcare started beautifully. We reached there at about 4am - and our midwife was amazing. She helped us so much, made us a snack and even helped make our bed.
After a few hours of sleep, the midwife who woke us up informed us that she would be finishing her shift soon and someone else would take over. We thanked her for all the help and had high expectations from the next midwife.
I am not going to name the person as it constitutes to cyber bulling - but let's call this person Ms. K. Ms. K was not helpful to begin with. She did not help us with anything. She was rude when we asked questions, said the baby was feeding well and never bothered to check how the baby was doing. She didn't even check our baby's vitals until we called our doctor. We decided that we had seen enough of Ms K and would rather go home and be more comfortable. Ms. K took offence to us seeking an early discharge. She started undermining our capabilities as new parents, started scaremongering into what could happen if we go home, told lies about our post natal midwife not wanting to work with us and the list goes on. I don't know what her problem is but this certainly was not a welcoming experience for me and my partner. One would expect an after birth place to be more comforting - this was flat out making new parents feel even more insecure. I will be logging an official complaint against Ms.K so others don't have to deal with the mess we had to.

β β β β β It's an excellent facility for new moms and their babies. All the midwives were incredibly patient and helpful. I wish we could have stayed a day longer but COVID restrictions apply. My wife enjoyed the food provided but I stuck with UberEATS.
