★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place to walk amongst the trees, relax in Ilex Café, stroll by the river, and visit the Rose Gardens. Plenty of spots for a picnic. The Botanic Gardens have a variety of collections of exotic and local plants of New Zealand, several conservatories, a nursery, playground and Climatological Station ?

Clean, green, trees, playground, picnic areas in the shade, delicious ice cream store ? for little ones and older folk ? plus creative foods and ☕ coffee at the Ilex café. Take a blanket and have a picnic. If you hate that idea utilized the wonderful Cafe and take a trip on the toast rack for more info on the trees and plants.
