*Normally, I don’t write bad reviews but I wanted to share these experiences for the owner to make the necessary improvements on what is otherwise a pretty cool store.
The first time I visited was a few months ago, to review their blinds and curtain fabrics for my home. I found some beautiful fabric options and had some questions around costs and how to order etc. Scanning the shop, there was only myself and a woman with her head down at the counter. I approached with an “Excuse me…” – she looked me up and down and answered in sharp tones that made me feel like I was not worthy her time. After asking a few open questions to soften the exchange and get some useful information, I gave up and left feeling deflated. I put that down to perhaps her just having a bad day.
Yesterday, Saturday 21 March, I returned to Braddock Interiors with a friend of whom has just finished working with an Interior Designer and redecorated her entire home on Waterloo Rd. However she is still on the look out for some statement pieces… There were a few things that caught my friends eye and as she does not live locally she asked the woman behind the counter if they had an online store. The woman responded with a sour look and a dismissive “Noooo" ... it was kinda awkward so we just beelined for the door.
I do not understand why the woman responded in this way knowing that they do in fact have a website. I can’t help but wonder if her response was due to us being in our late 30’s and cause we shop in our active wear post work out ??♀️
My friend does not know I’d previously had a bad experience with you guys, but unlike me she does not give second chances. She decided to return to Madame Treacle’s in Raumati.
