We knew something had changed once we started our entree...And Oh my gosh!
The deep fried mushrooms were moist inside, crispy outer ? wow
Mains arrived, the chicken schnitzel was so easy to cut into, the gravy was devine.. The brownie, I so thought I wouldn't be able to fit anymore, one bite and I'm making it fit. Sssoo yummy.
What happened to Breakers? ..
New Owners.. And you can taste the difference with the care in the cooking and the service we received at the table.
We will make this our local again after what we received today. Well done to those in there today! And thank you very much.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Haven't been back for a while because the food was terrible but thought we'd try again and the food has improved so much since. Had the pasta of the day (chicken, pesto fettuccini). Delicious!!! Friendly staff. Will definitely be back

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good meals, decent prices although some are a wee bit pricey. Steak wasn't cooked on a hot enough grill, so was grey not browned and lacked depth of flavour. Chicken Diane gravy was extremely salty. Other meals, especially burgers were well done. Ribs were excellent. Great service. Toilets except 1 were all closed before venue closed, which made final uses a bit of a wait. Great off road parking which was needed considering there was no onroad parking due to theatre event nearby.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My partner & I were quite shocked at the quality of our meals. We are loyal customers of Breakers nationwide, so we know our order before we walk through the doors. Disappointed as we didn't bother to touch the beef schnitzel meal, and the creamy mussels tasted like they were cooked in a microwave. The fries and fish were over cooked and the only decent meal were the nachos. A real let down as a first visit to Gisborne. I hope it improves.
