About Breeze Indian Restaurant
Breeze is designed giving utmost importance to comfort, elegance and hospitality. We aim at serving not just the authentic and flavorsome cuisines of the North but also unlock the exotic and succulent dishes of the South. In short Breeze is a culinary experience in itself; from our appetizers to dessert, plating to lighting; we are a cut above the rest. Breeze is your ultimate stop for food that will fuel your hunger and feed your soul.
About the owners
The story of Breeze kick starts with Noor Mohammed Shaikh (Noor) and Nithin Manuel (Nithin) two friends turned entrepreneurs. Noor, was previously living in Auckland with his family and was building a career in Engineering, while Nithin was settled in Hamilton with his family pursing his career as a social worker. When Noor and Nithin caught up food was their desired topic of conversation. Noor often spoke about his ammis(mum) flavorful biriyani and hearty curries while Nithin spoke about his cooking adventures and missing food from India. It would be rightful to say passion for good food brought them together and its during one such conversation the seeds for Breeze were sown.
The Mighty, energetic and multi cultural Waikato was chosen to give wings to their dreams. They pondered over a name for the business and came up with Breeze as a way to honor the legacy of our Head Chef Abdul Dayan. They aimed at providing quality food that satisfied hunger and liberated palates with flavors.
Our Head Chef - Shaikh Abdul Dayan
Introducing the anchor of our yacht, our head chef Abdul Dayan. We are very fortunate to have on board with us our Chef Abdul Dayan also father to Noor. Mr Shaikh Abdul Dayan (Dayan) formerly served as a senior executive chef at Breeze Hotel, Chennai, India. He holds a degree in Diploma - Culinary Arts Management. Dayan was born to a middle-class family in a village named Kakatpu in Odisha, India. During his childhood he developed an interest in cooking from assisting his mom and dad. As a little boy Dayan keenly observed his father presenting his food skills to his fellow colleagues at the Indian National Cadet Corps. Young Dayan was hugely inspired by his father’s work and followed his footsteps to the world of culinary.
The then young Dayan is now Chef Dayan and has acquired more than 40 plus years of experience. He has an in-depth knowledge in cooking and has worked across Asia, Middle East, and Oceania in the field of culinary arts. He has a network of more than 3000 plus students that he has trained that are successfully doing well across the world.

During his 18 years of service at the Breeze he was invited as the guest faculty at various Hotel Management Institutes across India, he has headed various food festivals and has also represented Indian Cuisine at Sri Lanka Food Festivals. He considers his biggest contribution as combining authentic Tamil cuisine (Chennai Sangamam) for which he was accoladed by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, India, and the Honorable Member of Parliament.
Apart from planning, preparing, and serving more than 100+ Indian menus, he has trained students locally and internationally. He is also a well-known face in the market for his culinary skills across New Zealand. β β β β β Why weren't more people there on a Friday night? Actually, it was great to almost have the place to ourselves so maybe I should keep quiet! Yeah, nah - onion bhaji x 1, Naan bread x 4, soft drinks x 3 and butter chicken x 2. Plenty for us 4 adults to share - generous portions, tasty food - all for just $80!!! Thank you for a great experience (and classy decor too) - we'll be back!

β β β β β Upon entering the restaurant staff said that you have only 15 minutes to place the order as kitchen is closing soon, I reckon this is rude. We have placed the order in next 10 minutes of settling down. Food has not been served for good 45 minutes and no one came to us to check & update regarding the food. we asked about the order and seen only one staff ( young boy with curly black hair) and he said I will check and bring food. He came inside and the starters has already been made and upon touching it feels Luke warm and I told the staff it is luke warm and not hot as it is supposed to be served hot but the girl on the counter said i donβt think so , can you please eat in front of me and tell me if its actually not hot. Then, she went inside the kitchen and never came back and no update was made. After that we have to ask for mains but after 1 hour curry has been served without plates & cutlery served before that. Then no breads served along with that. In between order one of the MP came to the restaurant placed order and also had take away the food in 15-20 minutes which was unfair.
The whole experience was dining out is to enjoy the food and ambience. I would not recommend this type of experience to anyone and would rate the customer service βzeroβ. Please make sure you have duty manager every time so that of customer has any issues so it can be solved at the same time.

β β β β β I have been waiting for so long time just to give 5 star for this restaurant. Itβs been 7 months Since I have started buying food from them and I also have the loyalty card. Iβll buy at least 4 times in a month. They maintain the same consistency in taste and even made better from the beginning of restaurant till now. Each and every item is tasty. I have tried most of the chicken and lamb dishes. My favourite and must try will be chicken lollipop and Schezwan chicken fried rice.

β β β β β I heard so much about this place. But after trying out the biryani Iβm highly disappointed. Just one small piece of meat in whole plate. Disappointed with what you get for the money you pay. Be careful before ordering and would recommend people to check with restaurant management about what they going to get. Trying to call them post 8:30 pm no one picks up even if you the restaurant is open. Very disappointed!!!!!

β β β β β Food: Let's talk about the obvious, their authentic Indian cuisine (also Halal) was amazing. My wife and I were intrigued to go there as we learned their head chef came down from our favourite Indian restaurant up in Auckland. We used to go to Auckland just to have his food. So now we wanted to make sure that we are getting the same taste here in Hamilton and yes, exactly the same and we are happy to save that extra petrol cost on extra food!
My wife and I went there for the Dinner buffet (5:30 to 9:00 pm). I would recommend you try their signature dish which is the Chicken Dum Biryani; chilly fish and chilly chicken. They do have vegetarian dishes, but I love my meats better. Do try their desserts as well, I would recommend the Double ka meetha and the fruit custard pudding as we both loved it! They do change their buffet menus everyday, so if you want to try these specifically, do call them and check on the day of your visit.
Seems they do take-away orders as well, just have to call and order.
Ambience and decor: Elegant is the word! Not the usual Indian decor you would have seen and no pungent smell of spices. We loved the whole ambience and the bright lighting.
Family friendly: Being a family business, they realise the importance of having clean toilets, clean hygienic high-chairs for kids. Also found their staff friendly, accommodating and most importantly smiling, which improves the whole experience.
Recommendations to Breeze: Add some gluten and dairy free options, this is something lacking for Indian restaurants and would make Breeze stand out even better.
Being right at the centre of Hamilton CBD, parking is hard to find. Would be great for you to have a tie-up with an adjacent parking companies to subsidize the parking fee for customers.
