★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stopped here while our way to Queenstown. Great natural beauty. Its between Wanaka and Fox & Franz Joseph on state highway 6. Very nice and photogenic place. White stone looks good. It was as great small break while driving as we stopped to stretch our legs and to revive and survive. Beautiful place and beach

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stopped here while our drive and thought to take a lunch our break. The beach is quite pretty the sea is much prettier. If you are driving this route, definitely recommend stopping here. It is a pretty beach. We stopped here and had our lunch. It is quite a long beach. There is a coffee cart here. The sea looks amazing and I could spend hours and hours sitting here and watching the sea. It is not a beach where you would lay on the beach and bask in the sun but definitely a beach where you would walk down and enjoy the sun, sand and sea.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There is a very nice stretch of beach at Bruce Bay along State Highway 6 (Haast Highway). The beach front is beautiful and plenty of spots to stop and enjoy the views. The coast is rather windy and the waves rather high and strong along Bruce Bay Beach.
This is a good place to take a driving break between Wanaka and Fox & Franz Josef. Stretch your legs, enjoy the waves crashing into the beach as well as the scenery for a few minutes before continuing onward with your drive north or south.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely stretch of beach with black (volcanic?) sand for a stretch. A lot of people have left messages on white rocks and it's a great place to stop for a picnic or even just a leg stretch whilst driving. You can really see the force of the waves coming from Australia!
