Not the best service, took my nikon d3000 in to get a quote, the receptionists were both lovely. However the filipino guy who came to view the camera, could have easily seen that the lense was broken not the actual camera but failed to tell me, he tried to charge me to look at the camera($60) and also another 60 for the lense, ($120 all up) money grabbing and not very 'kiwi' if you ask me,especially when it's an obvious and honest fault of not realising it was only the lense that was broken. Took it to noel leemings where I bought it, and the manager(not a tech expert might I add), told me straight away that it was the lense broken off, and screwed it off in 2 seconds, camera magically fixed!...Only the lense was broken, and suggested buying a new one. Which I now bought 1 for $90. Saved me a big hefty fee. I suggest we get honest kiwi's in these tech places, and some guys are just out for money instead of doing the right thing.

I had mistakenly dropped my Canon Digital Camera and the lens got stuck making it impossible to retract. I found Camera Repair from Internet. The customer service staff was professional and courteous, advised me clearly on their repair procedures and time line. They did a great job fixing and cleaning it (it looks almost new) and the fee was reasonable (much cheaper than buying a similar class of camera). Great Experience!

I took a hard tumble and cracked the thin plastic telescoping barrel on my telephoto lens. It's important to note that the lens still worked perfectly after this, please see the two attached photos to see picture that I took with the lens AFTER cracking the plastic barrel. I wanted to get the barrel replaced as I was concerned about moisture/dust getting into the lens and ruining it. Otherwise it was still working fine - this includes the auto-focus (remember this). I was given a ballpark estimate by the employee there of $300-$500 to just repair the plastic barrel. A day or two later, I get an quote of $1100 to repair the lens - the reason being that the focusing module wasn't working properly. I went back to the company advising the lens can be replaced for $1200, and that an $1,100 repair wasn't tenable. I also asked for a price just to replace the cracked barrel as I knew the autofocus was still working fine. I was told they would forward this onto the manager for response. Three days later (after having to follow up), I was told "we won’t be able to process partial of the repair as per your request, since the focus module fault might not be able to resume during the lens zoom barrel repair." I picked up the lens the following Monday without going through with repair, and after extensively testing the auto-focus upon my return home I can report that the auto-focus still works PERFECT in both low-light and bright outdoor conditions. The whole encounter left a bad taste in my mouth, and while the staff are lovely to deal with I'm afraid I wouldn't feel confident in any repair quote given by Advance Computers in the future.

Excellent and cheerful service from Advanced Computers who fixed my Canon 7D. From past experience I was anticipating a 2-4 week wait for my camera. I did some internet research where I found several choices. I wanted to know turn around and out the door costs, so I sent out a handful of emails. Advanced Computers replied in a thorough and timely manner - so I took a chance on them. Boom! Sent my DSLR off on a Friday afternoon and it was returned to me, working perfectly (and clean) on Tuesday- NOT EVEN A WEEK!! You can't beat the fast turnaround. I am happy and will use them again.
