β β β β β Cape is one of the most beautiful places on earth, it is the top most peak point of northern new Zealand where there is a light house and the view from there is mind blowing, the cool breeze is relaxing.
The colours of ocean and sky, the sound of wind and ocean are mind soothing.
You can reach there by a day trip from Paihia. The lighthouse is about a 15 minute walk from the parking area along well developed and mostly flat trails with sweeping scenic ocean views along the way.
If you haven't been to Cape reinga and you're planning on enjoying a trip to New Zealand I highly recommend you put this on your list of things to do in the North Island.

β β β β β Absolutely my favorite light house in the whole country. It's worthy to travel here even by hitchhiking for several hours from the capital city. Then stay overnight next to the lighthouse and wait for the sunrise over the ocean. It was so wonderful night under the billions of stars above my head.

β β β β β Beautiful location worth visiting. Short walk from the carpark to the lighthouse with plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the view along the way.
Bathroom facilities at the carpark only so I'd recommend visiting it before starting the walk.
Also take a hat as it can get uncomfortable on a sunny day due to a lack of shade :)

β β β β β Beautiful iconic Kiwi lighthouse. It's a complete mission to get up to Cape Reinga but well worth it. We decided to drive up. I've been up before in a guided tour which I do recommend for anyone with a high end car. We had a rental car as thought the road isn't as bad as they let you to believe.

β β β β β Stand at the top of the cliffs by Cape Reinga Lighthouse and watch the swirling currents of the Tasman Sea and the Pacific Ocean. Enjoy sweeping views across the beaches and visit the 800-year-old tree that is one of the most sacred Maori sites in New Zealand. Amazing Place!!!!!!

β β β β β It's such a beautiful spot, the colours, the sounds, the rugged beauty of it. It's a good drive, plenty of places to stay and plenty of walks and things to do nearby. Take your sunscreen, take some sandwiches and plenty of water if it's a hot day. The road is all sealed now, some people might remember from a long time ago it wasn't sealed the whole way. The walk to the lighthouse from the carpark is sealed also.
