You can choose to either walk up to the lookout or all the to the top. During a nicer after rainy day its beautiful to swim in rock pools on top of the mountain. Hiking all the way up is not for all there’s a bit of a climb but well worth it. Nice scenery throughout the walk.

We went on a beautiful sunny day. Absolutely loved it. The waterfall was fantastic. The track was bit muddy from the view point up but all good. My 4 year old niece walked up and down without any help. Some places is steep but slowly it can be done. Steep stairs at before the view point but from there to the top... Bit steep. 45 minites to the view point another 45 to the top. Coming back we took out time. Cheers all

This place is magical. Love the giant boulders along the track and through the river as you climb the mountain. Best workout and reward at the top. - JP from Tauranga

Well worth the hike to the top of the falls. Recommend comfortable hiking boots or shoes with plenty of grip, a hiking pole or stick. Track weaves around rocks, trees, otherwise a good level of fitness, plenty of water

Very beautiful serene place. Certainly a good workout for the day hiking up steep cliffs. So worth it once you're to the top. There is a halfway lookout of the falls but I highly recommend the intrepid journey to the top of the falls.

Absolutely stunning views from the top of the falls. 1.5 hour hike to the top is well worth. Closer to the midway point there are a few set of wooden narrow steps with passing points, once you passed that it is almost the mid point. You can see the falls from the distance to the mid point (45min). Next 45 min is much easier than the first 45min and I absolutely recommend to the containe to the top and you wouldn't regret that. Top of the falls fairly flat and you can walk very closer to the edge of the falls (Only water level is low). I did this with my 7 years old and she didn't have any issues throughout the full hike. Full hike is going under the trees, so you are well protected from the sun. Take water and some snacks to refresh your self on the top and togs for kids to soak in the water. Newly built long-drop toilets are at the carpark, they are in really good condition and well maintained, even hand sanitizers provided.

Very scenic, relaxed 30 min - 40 min. walk to first lookout points, a bit steeper from there to the top but doable. Amazing views.

Definitely worth the challenge if you're about getting to the top asap! Otherwise it's suitable for families. Beautiful scenic walk, you could cruise along and stop at rockpools and just take it all in.
