★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lots of people gathered this morning to see the selenelion. We did see both the moon in eclipse and the morning sun rise but not both simultaneously. Probably doesn't count as witnessing this very rare event, but we did get an early morning outing and that's worth plenty.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The one place where you can catch the city lights and the southern lights at the same place. It's been one of my favorite haunts ever since I came to Christchurch!
Wanna road trip? Off to Cashmere hills. Wanna take some astro shots? Off to Cashmere hills. Wanna go on a trek? Off again to Cashmere hills.
This place is just beautiful, whatever time of day or night it is. I wonder if the city lights could be used to profess one's love, as in the movie "Rab ne bana di jodi" !
