Stunning experience, great interiors and food was amazing. Must try their fish fillet with caviar, best at hospitality and food. Recommended stay in Auckland.

I went with my friends for High tea. Great Ambience, good service but very disappointed with the food specially the savoury items. Carrot panna cota and tarlet were so bad that none of us ate after the first bite. The sweet items were better but nothing to write home about. Tea menu is limited. So Definitely need to work on their menu. Also nobody asked that how was the food when we were paying which is strange. Will rather go back to Sofitel next time.

Well, what not to like here! This lounge is all magical when you have some great high Teas on your table! with great options to chose. I cannot recommend enough to spend your special day here with the high teas the lobby lounge has to offer. The staff here was very accommodating and attended to my special surprise request.

I was excited to have a high tea here but was overall very disappointed with the experience. The seating was comfortable and the hot chocolate I received was nice but the service and food provided was below satisfactory. My table was seated for over 25 minutes and no one came to take our tea order. We were served our food and still no tea, I had to ask the server if he could take our tea order as no one had come. Watching the other staff serving other tables early that were seated well after us was also disappointing. But watching the waiter spill an entire drink down the back of a mans shirt was highly unprofessional. The savoury items were not tasty and the ham and cucumber sandwiches were soggy. Our table was also not served any macarons, like every other table was. We also had no server ask us again for our second drink order. I would not recommend having a high tea here, go somewhere else.

The drinks are really good. I always enjoy having a cocktail, coffee or mocktail here.

Underwhelming. The savoury and sweet options were overall lacking in flavour, and had strange flavour combinations. The freshness and quality of the food was more in line with what you would find at a convenient store out of a warmer or cooler. I don’t think most of the food was made fresh- dry and/or soggy depending. But the tea and coffee was wonderful. We needed to remind the waitstaff of what food was coming next, because we could see the table next to us being served, although we waited patiently. Overall though the wait staff were friendly. When asked how our experience was, we felt too embarrassed to explain in the moment. There needs to be an overhaul of how high tea is approached at this establishment. We had visited before the change in ownership and rebranding and were satisfied. We were also seated at the entrance of the chandelier area, although we were first to arrive, and felt like we were sitting in a hallway. If you’re coming for the ambience, the chandelier room feels like a function room rather than something special, although I realise that isn’t constructive feedback. Very disappointed for $80 ea.

Organised a surprise birthday high tea for my friend here. It was lovely for us first-timers. Wasn't a fan of squid for high tea though. I did like the alternative approach to savoury options. Thought there could have been more of a balance between sweet and savoury but on the whole tasty. Would've appreciated milk with my tea but I survived!

The high tea here is such a fun day out. Not only is the food delicious and ambiance perfectly curated but the service is fantastic too. I was very well catered too with a gluten free high tea. On booking you can specify and allergies you have - they have an extensive list. My waiter confirmed when I arrived that I was coeliac. They also confirmed the food was prepared coeliac every time they placed food on the table, a small but comforting touch which not many other places offer. When you walk in, you're greeted and then seated at a table which has already been pre set for you to dine at. Your waiter will leave you to read over the menu before coming back and answering any of your questions. They will then bring your high tea over. Once you've finished the savoury section they'll serve your scones and also sort out your tea. There's an extensive tea menu which means you can find something to fit your tastes. Then, you'll be left to enjoy the rest of your food. Despite it all being small portions, most of the tables I observed did takeaway a box with remaining treats in it. Highly recommended whether it's just you or if it's a larger group to celebrate something.
