★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ordered a mapo tofu and a chicken curry (hot), both the curry which was ordered hot and the mapo tofu which is traditionally very hot had 0 heat to them at all. the mapo tofu also tasted as if some component of it was out of date. both had very little flavor (apart from the slightly 'off' flavor of the tofu dish)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ China City make the best orange beef in nz hands down. The wontons are big and tasty and as we try different things on the menu we haven't found anything we don't like. You can dine in or takeaway. Always friendly staff too. Try them you won't regret

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Chicken was mostly deep fried fat that tasted like dish water, and it was very dry. The serving sizes are tiny (wine bottle in photo for scale) and the tub was only 2/3 full! Wait time was 30 minutes, prices are average but high considering the quality. Not impressed.

We also arrive at 5.30 as when it gets busy they can be wait times.
Food is always amazing and tasteful and value for money.
We go at least once a month and the food ha never disappointed me. The fried banana for dessert is so delicious to!

Orange beef was cold and very chewy.
Egg fu Tung way overdone tasted like burnt omelet.
Fried rice a big fail. No flavour what so ever.
We had a decent meal in the past but this one was definitely a let down. Will not return in a hurry.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Worst food ever, no flavour, smelt funny like 'rotting meat' and the chow mein was nothing like the meal should be, some meat and veges with no flavour thrown on top of dry uncooked noodles. Never buying from there again. Takeaway delivered. I literally have thrown it all in the rubbish bin
