At City Dogs, we pride ourselves on being able to provide the best quality grooming services for your loved pooch.
Matt Burkhardt, a certified pet stylist, started City Dogs in 2007 and now has a team of 4 assisting him.
Centrally located in the heart of Newton, at City Dogs, Matt offers the full range of grooming services from simple washing, to doggy styling for the pampered pet. Pooches enjoy style, warmth and comfort in a commercial warehouse apartment site, ideally situated for city dwellers and people working in and around the CBD.
City Dogs now have clients from one end of Auckland to the other who are happy to travel for the services we provide their pooch. A few faithfuls, after leaving town, even manage a trek back to Auckland every 6 to 8 weeks for their dog’s regular groom. That sure makes us feel loved!

Matt and the staff have always been friendly and great to deal with, Emmi is always well looked after, groomed professionally (comes out looking all pretty and new!) and we find the pricing to be competitive. We would highly recommend Matt, Meredith and the team at City dogs.

We own 3 Yorkshire Terriers that are more like our children than dogs. I have found our dogs are relaxed and happy to be at City Dogs with Matt and his team. They are quick, efficient, very reasonably priced and above all they are great at grooming - We'd had a few dodgy experiences with other local groomers before we found City Dogs and they are definitely the best in the area. Also they are lovely people and fantastic with the dogs ... they genuinely like the dogs and are kind and caring. We wouldn't go any where else.

Frank and Beau always arrived home looking unbelievably immaculate and surprisingly ( for Frank ) pretty chilled. Have enjoyed our chats about the idiosyncrasies of poodles. Just hope we find as good a dog groomer when we move down the line.

City Dogs did a wonderful job, natural looking and very tidy, my dog looks fantastic! Thanks Meredith and crew. He was calm with them and came back to me very happy.
