★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is not so much the venue one rates, but the show. The theatre itself I quite like, and find it different and quirky.
This time we saw Sister Act performed by the Hamilton Operatic Society. In my view, probably the best show I have seen in a very long time. Superb.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ While the performance of the Hamilton Civic Choir and supporting singers was first class, the theatre seating in the balcony area is appalling. Many people were heard to be complaining of sore bones and muscles afterwards.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went down from Auckland to see "We will rock you" so well worth the trip! Can't get over the enthusiasm and professionalism of the performers, SENSATIONAL. The theatre is such a good size, which makes it feel homely. Would love to see it again perhaps in Auckland, would you believe that it has already been here, and at a theatre within walking distance from us. Duh. Well done to everyone, not forgetting the orchestra, wonderful guitarist!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First time visit to the theatre and was pleasantly surprised. Well organized, helpful staff, seating was good with plenty of leg room. The acoustic were very good and the view of the stage was excellent. We will be looking out for other events and will be back.
Thanks Clarence theatre for a great evening. Those that have not been there should certainly give it a try.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Travelled from Rotorua to the theatre in pouring rain to see "Chicago" today. Absolutely fabulous show - excellent dancing and singing and made to feel most welcome. Will be back ... oh and the trip home? The rain just kept coming down.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went to see Chicago.. what a wonderful show!! Amazing artists, music stage and lights! Very welcoming staff… Overall a wonderful experience, loved every bit! We will be back sure for more!! Pity its so closely located to us but not much advertising around the city for this… only more online!! Amazing stuff happening next door and we only came to know through internet ??♂️

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a great theatre in our community. They are able to accomodate over 500 people. They have a good sized bar, selling drinks and snacks. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The seating is not fixed, so you don’t feel trapped in cramped seats. We have been to see kids shows here, stand up comedy, and quite a few plays as well. Always feel welcome and comfortable. Parking is not too bad. I often park on the street nearby. As long as you get there early it’s not normally an issue.
