About COF's Hawke's Bay Ltd
Mark holds a COF B qualification, which allows him to focus on his area of interest and expertise - heavy transport vehicles. It brings together specialist skills that he’s honed after 25 years working as a qualified diesel mechanic.
When Mark left school, he went straight into an apprenticeship, then managed other mechanic workshops. In 2006, he started his own business, MJB Transport Services Ltd, which he ran successfully with his partner Jo, for 16 years. In that time, they built up a solid base of loyal customers.
With so much trade experience, Mark could have chosen a variety of different paths within the industry, but after continual frustrations as a ‘customer’ in the vehicle testing industry, he knew that it could be done better!
Like many other vehicle testing customers, he often experienced lengthy delays and substandard customer service at testing stations. He was determined to offer locals a more efficient, friendly service…and COF’s Hawke’s Bay was born.
When Mark’s not keeping vehicles road-worthy, he spends his time on workshop projects, fishing, hunting and duck-shooting. He and Jo also love spending time with friends and family at Mahia, where they sponsor the local fishing club.
