★ ★ ★ ★ ★ While staying at Fox Glacier we made several trips to the cafe. It is a lovely place with great atmosphere - the staff there are excellent. We'd happily recommend the Cook Saddle and will return again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stopped into the cafe for a coffee after walking to see Fox Glacier. Awesome friendly staff gave us great service and the coffee was excellent. Quite a cool looking little cafe/bar with a good feel to it. Fireplace inside looked nice and cosy for those chilly West Coast days in other seasons.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A great little pit stop. Very friendly and welcoming waitress. Houses a fireplace and great atmosphere. The hot chocolate is fantastic. Great selection of beers on tap. For lunch we had beef burgers but found them to be far too salty which was really unfortunate as they presented really well for $24.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just had the weirdest experience at this local restaurant. Trying to support local economy as we are all doing it hard. The night before our 40th wedding anniversary We arrived just before 7, had order taken. 1 hour later we were still waiting for our meal, we had to chase it and they told us it got lost in the system due to internet down. Would be another 20 mins, chased it again after 20 mins told another 10 mins. Other diners were stopping at our table sympathetic to our predicament. The manager came and sat at our table and told us how hard they are having it, covid, loss of business etc, only three staff bla bla bla but please give a good review. Our food arrived and as the Manager was walking away I said to Hubby “that’s not really an apology” as an “offer of drinks on us” goes a long way to apologise. The manager turned around picked up our plates, turned around and took them back to the kitchen leaving all the other diners gobsmacked. Then she came back and asked us to leave and wished us a merry Christmas. What the actual! We didn’t shout, make a scene just said that we shouldn’t have to chase our food and the other diners commented how calm we were given the circumstances. Still can’t quite believe this has happened to us.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great staff, great food. The loaded fries were incredible. Got fish n chips the next day, fries perfectly crunchy and the hoki was amazing. Awesome decor and music too!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We visited Fox for two days over Easter and spent a bit of time here, the bartender was very friendly and the beer was great. It's very central in Fox and serves a good variety of food with a cosy fireplace. We enjoyed visiting and would go again in Fox, only minor downside was they seemed to be pretty short staffed so we waited a while to order and food to arrive.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stopped in and had a fish pie for lunch. Fair price and tasty. Hope the tourism sector picks up and they can help get through these times. Big expanse of space and would probably be a good spot to drink in the evening. Pool table etc

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very warm vibe and a good choice of food! Really loved the chicken tenders takeaway, very tasty. Lovely service from a woman originally out of Fuji (didnt catch her name). Very kind and warm, made us feel very welcome as a first timer at the west-coast. Would recommend coming here!
