The instructional is the way to go, not much more in cost and he teaches you to fly a hang glider! My instructor Anders was very professional and safe. We spent about 20 minutes waiting for the wind to be right before taking off. He let me take control and taught me to fly when it was safe to do so. Was a great experience and worth the cost!

It was our first paragliding ever for myself and my wife, and was an awesome experience. I personally thought that the pilot especially the one I flew with was overly excited laugh laugh. It was a very different feeling flying over the mountain and the field. As stated, it was our very first time so it was all good, however we were informed of the changed weather condition which forced us to move over to a spot called crown terrace instead of coronet peak. When we asked, most of the pilots and the driver said it wasn't so much lower than the initial take off spot. I'm not quite sure if it was just us or what but the flight seemed really short. No one explained it in detail and when people say different things, we got confused. We then had to wait for the last person to have another flight (not sure why he had the second chance) and again no one explained much to the remaining customers. I believe that it is a great activity to do but I feel that there is a huge room for improvement especially when the scheduled flight is changed without a notice. I think it is only fair that we were notified of the change at the earliest possible time and were asked if we were still happy to proceed. We had not been given such an option and felt as if we were tricked into doing things that we have not signed up for. There was no apologies or explanation and this was a huge let down. I hope you all enjoy your flights but if you want the best out of it, I suggest you ASK them if the flight is actually the one they advertised and if there is any changes to the weather.

What an amazing experience. Hands down the best adventure thrill I have had. The entire team at Coronet Peak Tandems were fantastic. They made the experience so much fun. They are all extremely experience so you feel safe and secure through out. The views are incredible. Do it and then do it again!

The best activity we did in our whole Queenstown trip. Just amazing! ? My partner got to fly the paraglider for a bit and he was STOAKED. We will definitely do this again next time we are in Queenstown. The instructors were so awesome ? and we had great conversations with Angus on the way there and back.

Had a absolutely amazing flight from the top of Coronet Peak. Nice smooth take of from the peak, amazing flight, cool banked turns and a smooth landing. It was my first time paragliding and absolutely loved the experience. Thanks Peter from Hungry. You were a great pilot. Can't wait to do it again next year I'm in Queenstown.

Really good experience. Instructors were very friendly and easy to get along with. The ride is a bit short though, but that could be the norm in NZ or Queenstown.

This has been my first hang-gliding experience, it was in March, few years ago. -Did I like it? Yeah, it was my first time, and I had a blast, even though the experience was way too short and the view was anything outstanding. -Was it worth (money/experience)? No. I got told the experience would have lasted up to 15 minutes, but it only lasted 5min. Put $195 for the experience, put $60 for pic and video, total $255 for 5 minutes experience, it means $50 per minute... it can be such a nice experience, but when you realize was nothing outstanding and see the price... brrrr... but even though it was outstanding, it does not justify the price. -Would I do it again? Well, definitely yes, I had a blast I said, but not here. The "price/time comparison" really ruined the experience. -Would I suggest this experience? Well, in order to have a better view, it should be done either in autumn or in winter... but, as for the previous points, I would suggest it somewhere else. -Any suggestion for the Coronet Peak Tandem team? Well, people can be very difficult to please some times, it's normal. Some times they expect too much or don't consider the weather and can get disappointed for little things... personally, I would like they to be more clear. I did not like nobody told me the experience could have been so short and no mentions at all about the money for pic and video. Be more clear, the more clear you are, the less people can complain... and yes, make sure your instructors make the experience last a bit longer, please :) Edit. Hi Gitti. Thank you for the answer (I did not fly with Danny though, but I remember he was a very nice guy). Well, my point was, even though I did fly in a great day for thermal activity, according to both the instructors there, both before and after the experience, it still lasted not much. 5 min less is a bit less but, as you can imagine, on a 10min experience is a lot... My advice for you guys is still the same: it's nice to have pic of the experience to post on Instagram, but this in not the whole point of it; the point is also having time to enjoy the experience which, unfortunately, felt quite rushed, that's all.
