★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I like the new shop lay out, good work. I only use this supermarket for odd items as often passing. Find their special and card specials confusing. Also mixing special and non special items in the same bin/shelf deceptive.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We purchased online for the first time at Church Corner, we were missing 7 dairy items and product supplied was not up to standard including bananas that were sticky and over-ripe, disappointing after getting very good service from the Ferrymead store.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I am a Chilean citizen whom has been living in NZ for 9 years. I Usually go to this Countdown as I work at the UC. Yesterday, around 7:30 pm, I went into this establishment with one of my Chilean friends to buy some Chilean wine as you guys have quite a great Chilean Wine range of red wine. My friend is from Chile and on her working holiday. As soon as we walked in we were mean mugged and followed by the security woman. I noticed she followed us for a bit but we didn’t take much attention to this. As we were choosing one of the roast chickens for dinner she comes up to my friend Camila and gets super close to her, way less than the legal meter social distance. She demanded that Camila pulls up her mask. My friend was wearing her mask, it might have been a bit lower than usual as she’s a tiny girl but definitely covering her nostrils. “You need to pull your mask up!” and not maintaining social distancing and pointing someone straight in the face, isn’t the proper way to deal with this. A Please wasn’t used and Camila felt attacked and racially discriminated as none of the other white kiwis whom were coming in with us got followed or told to pull their masks up (even when they were wearing cloth masks not proper surgical or KN95 masks, which we were in fact wearing.) I understand this isn’t a Countdown issue but security at this location is in fact racist and unprofessional. We will not be going back to this location as we feel unsafe. Just wanted to bring this up to Riccarton Countdown management so you guys can report this security woman to the security company for her to actually get properly trained in differentiating thieves and migrants. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Standard Countdown. Classic items you can find somewhere else but a bit more expensive, like any other Countdown. What it is good at, the imported food. Especially Italian pasta and tomato sauce. You can find good deals if you have the One Card. Also the meat is above local standards. Overall fine, you just need to know what you are after.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I went in tonight around 6.30 (Wednesday) and was served at the deli by a young lady, her name badge said she was in training, but I can’t remember the name lovely service from her, and she had even walked me over to a different aisle to help me find another product and helped me with reading the nutritional information on the packet. Impressed, keep it up ☺️
