★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have bought goods every week since 2008, since I came to Waikanae. I am older now - and cannot carry 2 bottles of lemonade, Handy Andy, and a litre of milk very far. The bones in my neck go 'out' if I try.
So, after many phone calls, and a difficult battle with the website (which really needs tweaking) I have ordered FAR FAR more food and lemonade than I need - so as to accommodate their minimum ceiling of $50.00 per order!!
While I understand that delivery is a courtesy, and a privilege - I think it very unfair to penalize an 83 YO into excessive buying because she needs help with weight!! What happened to chivalry?? And I do NOT want substitutes either!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I don't normally shop at Countdown because it's much more expensive than the other rip-off supermarkets. But I popped into get some fuzzy drinks as I was close by & couldn't be bothered going to my local supermarket which is considerably cheaper.
But they are all ripping us off, it's a shame we don't eat grass. My God food is expensive, so why pay more when we can save a little bit. Come on Kiwi retailers, I know you have to make a profit, but too much greed it starving us. We are all struggling and your profits are shamfull.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Another very good Countdown Supermarket with a large selection of fresh and frozen groceries. The store is well stocked with a bakery and deli. Added to this is a lotto outlet.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Countdown supermarket is alright as far as supermarkets go and is a nice size to navigate if you don't feel up to going to the nearby, larger Pak n Save.
The meat selection isn't the best, bought a piece of fish from here once, opened it and had to throw it straight out as it was off.
Watch out for car park Karens here too! Something about the busy car park brings out the absolute worst in some people and I've witnessed screaming and confrontations.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We ordered online at lunch time today and it was delivered at 4:30! Really efficient. Unfortunately the milk was missing. I called Countdown Paraparaumu and Mary and Anne-Marie were wonderful and made sure that my milk was redelivered within 30 minutes, So really thrilled with the service we received.
