β β β β β Taihape has been known as a food stop for as long as it's been a town. The Crystal lives up to the town's reputation of great food for the traveller. Best sausage in region. Interior is classic NZ circa 1974. Awesome place

Range of cabinet food from sandwiches to bakery items like cream donuts etc.
Pies and other hot food on offer.
Prices are value for money!
Nothing fancy but bacon and eggs for $13 with two slices of toast and chips! Feed two for $30 (2x cooked breakfasts - Bacon & eggs and the sausage meal which includes a can drink + 1L just juice to share ?).
If you're on a budget and need a feed in Taihape, thoroughly recommend.

Update after later visits.
Great value and they really have everything. There cheese burger being priced only $4.50 was a deal with the combo for $7.50 very much worth it. This will definitly be the place for me to stop at when going through Taihape!

β β β β β A ggod size bakehouse cafe on the mainstreet of our famous Taihape - with sidewalk dining option. Probably least expensive cafe break I have experienced in recent times. Large selection of eats. Very friendly owner operator.
