β β β β β Incredible location. Good variety of spots (either sea view or βhiddenβ in the flax bush. We spotted heaps of Hectorβs dolphins in Purpoise Bay and in the evening, we were lucky to see a few yellow eyed penguins on the other side.
Unfortunately, the showers and toilets are not what you expect for $40/$45 per night, unpowered. Thereβs mould in all the showers ($1 for 5 minutes on top of the camp fee) and the most toilets smell quite bad. The kitchen looked pretty good, although we didnβt use it ourselves.
Despite the toilet and shower facilities I would still recommend staying here overnight. It really is a unique place.

β β β β β Amazing location on the Cliffs above Porpoise Bay. Powered sites are a generous size (10m) but the site we booked had no power supply without running a cable across the road so we moved, which was not an issue. New kitchen and amenities block with code access. Bathrooms could have been cleaner as mould in a new shower is not what I expected. Showers $1coin for 5mins but plenty of time to shower. The most amazing thing is the location. We saw beautiful sunrise & sunsets and swam with the Hector's dolphins who frequent the Bay. The cutest baby dolphins I have ever seen. A once in a lifetime experience. Our neighbours were locals from Balclutha who made us feel very welcome, we had an awesome time and would definitely return.

β β β β β The price per tent ($45) is too expensive for what they offer. The facilities are distant and we had to pay $1 for a 5 min shower in a salty water. Beautiful view but disappointing for the facilities and price. It should be cheaper to be worthy. Great view, that's it!

β β β β β The camping ground itself was unfortunately a let down. We were in a group and asked to be together, we were put in 3 camp sites side by side with big flax bushes between us. Was pretty expensive for having to pay $1 per 5minute shower too. Not sure what we were actually paying for? No playgrounds for kids. Saved by its location as we really enjoyed the dolphins, was very fun!

β β β β β We had a good sheltered spot for our RV, surrounded by flax plantings, close to facilities. Saw lots of dolphins in Porpoise Bay and one of us swam. The waves, seaweed and petrified forest were awesome to view. Lots of walks, cliff, beach, rainforest. The cafe was handy and we enjoyed a good coffee.

β β β β β Curio Bay. Nice campground (contrary to some of the feedback) and friendly staff. Snug sites or site bays separated by flax plantings on what would otherwise be an inhospitably windy peninsular. Safe drinking water. Fairly tight security to keep day visitors from using facilities: good clean showers ($1 coin needed), toilets, laundry and kitchen/dining space. There are other toilets dotted around the camp area; less salubrious but you donβt need to walk far in the night. Beach is good for walking and swimming, and there were dolphins playing in the sea. Petrified forest and penguin crossing very nearby (200m walk), and a remarkably peaceful, quiet forest-reserve walk, to the sound of native birds, across the road.

β β β β β As everyone says, this park is in a stunning location with a variety of options for camping either overlooking the beach or the cliff side, or sheltered amongst the flax.
The facilities need a serious overhaul to bring them to an acceptable standard for the fees. Sadly as there isn't any nearby competition I expect that's a long way off.
Beautiful area for seeing dolphins and penguins and nice swimming in Porpoise Bay.

β β β β β I really love how the camp sites are divided by flax its gives more privacy. The grounds are clean and tidy, with plenty of toilets. The showers cost $1 for 5min which i found was actually enough, all they need is a rubber mat when you get out so you are standing above the wet floor. On one side is the beach with dolphins on the other side is penguins and a bush walk.
I personally found the water tastes awful, will definitely be bringing my own next time.
