About Cycletreads
Everyone at Cycletreads has motorcycling in their blood. Even if they don't have a bike right now, they still dream about them! However you look at it, "we speak motorcycles" and no matter what you ride, there is always a warm and enthusiastic welcome at 'Treads.

Showroom
Our huge Auckland megastore is located at 72 Barry's Point Road Takapuna and we're open 7 days! (normally closed on public holidays) Just ride on up the ramp into our bright, modern workshop for service work including tyres which are our speciality, or if you want to browse our stock, there is plenty of parking right at the front door. There is also parking at the rear of the building with ample turnaround area for trailers.
All the customer services you have come to expect in a retail store are right here at the Cycletreads megastore. We have toilets, comfortable rest area, fitting rooms,magazines to read, decent lighting and more.
Our stock of tyres, parts, clothing and accessories is second to none and if it is not in stock, we can soon get it for you. We also have high speed computer links to our supplier's warehouses so we can give you an instant answer of stock availability and our best pricing.
History
Since 1986 Cycletreads has been New Zealand's leading supplier of motorcycle and ATV tyres, parts, accessories and riding gear. We're proud to stock many of the world's leading brands to bring you a massive selection at unbeatable prices.Our Superstore in Barry's Point Road, Takapuna opened in early 2004 and is now the countries largest store exclusively dedicated to motorcycle parts, accessories and apparel. The Superstore includes a large workshop manned by experienced professionals. Services offered include the fitting and balancing of tyres, WOF, installation of brake pads, sprockets and chains, scottoillers, heated grips, luggage systems, lap timers, digital speedos as well as other minor servicing such as oil/filter changes and the replacement of wheel bearings.
We are open seven days a week, Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 5.30pm and Saturday & Sunday from 9am to 4pm. And, if you're out of town, use our mail order facility to take advantage of great deals and service second to none!

β β β β β Made my 1st time in getting new tires for my bike very easy. Walked in, told the gent at the counter that I'm a newbie on tires, he looked up my bike in the system to make sure he gave me the right size tyre, told me how much and took my name and number and said he'd call me when ready. From arriving to leaving with new tyres took just over an hour. After getting advise about the new tyres I was on my way.
Very happy customer I was. Thanks muchly. Will be back again when I need the next set of tyres

β β β β β Very disappointed with the service I received from Cycletreads.
First, Cycletreads fitted new brake pads to my motor scooter in 2021. I knew something was off when I collected my scooter and took it for a test ride in the parking lot, only to discover that the front caliper was rubbing and the brake not working. Had I not tested the brakes, I would have headed straight on the motorway with brakes that didn't work. I took it back and asked the mechanic to check the fitting of the pads, which they did. The brakes seemed to work afterwards, and so I thought they were then fitted correctly. I have since discovered that they were not properly fitted. My current mechanic showed me the pads which have only worn in the front 1/4 and at an angle as they were not in fitted properly. Further, the front caliper had been bent into place with force. As a result, my front disc has worn significantly, my brake pad has needed premature replacement, and my mechanic has had to repair and reassemble the brake. The rear caliper had additionally been threaded when re-fiitted. All this costing me to be repaired and replaced.
Second, I also purchased a tyre from the shop for my scooter in 2021. The staff there fitted it. I later discovered that the tyre was 7 years old when purchased. My current mechanic says tyres older than 5-years old should not be sold as the quality of the rubber degrades. I expected I was buying a 'new' tyre as I was paying full price for it. There was no indication that it was 7 years old. I would not have purchased it had I known then what I know now. I have had to replace it after only roughly 4000kms.
I will not be returning to this store.

They also carry wild range of outfits, leathers, helmets, boots and accessories. You should be able to pick something you need (or don't need sometimes). Keep on the great work guys.

β β β β β Hard to know where to start. Unbelievably bad service and communication. 7 weeks to complete a simple service and remove a broken stud. Terrible customer service and constant excuses. Never called me back when they said they would. Pretty much made me feel like I was an inconvenience to them every time I called. Despite having my bike for 7 weeks, they failed to carry out everything I had asked. Laughably telling me a part would take 6 weeks to arrive. Well you have the bike for 7! If you arenβt interested in the job, please donβt accept it. Wonβt be back.
