β β β β β Worth the drive out. Inspiring people who seem to be living the dream. Unique wines, not the usual old thing...

β β β β β I dont usually leave reviews but had to with this winery. Not made welcome for the wine tasting, just wanted to leave straight away as felt like we were holding the host up from doing something else. Made the mistake of ordering pizzas first, small, basic and over priced. Very hard to recommend to anyone to make the trip to this place.

β β β β β A beautiful country drive culminating in an idyllic setting with fine wine and food. Looking out over the rural landscape beyond Tony's creative and quirky sculptures and structures seems like a retreat from urban reality. The food menu (pizzas and platters) is smallish, delicious and satisfying. That the pizzas are wood-fired in front of you doesn't even warrant a mention. Of course the oven is made by Tony too. This is a hidden gem in Hawkes Bay.

β β β β β Nice lunch platters. Hardly any info given on the wine tasting wines. Friendly doggo. Young waiter very helpful and attentive.

β β β β β We went to the βcafeβ yesterday and were weirdly greeted at the door by a young guy who opened it, popped his head out and told us we could not come in as they were busy. This was bang on lunch timeβ¦ (12:30pm) and we were the only car in the car park? We were only after a coffee and wanted to enjoy it outsideβ¦
Even my 4 year old asked why canβt we stay here? I repliedβ¦ the man told us they are too busy to which he responded βbut itβs just us?β
Regardless if they had a large booking coming in, we were interested in the ambience of the place and it would have been nice to look around and been given the option of a cup of coffee, at the least- after all they are advertised as a CAFE and not a restaurant?!
Please train your staff on the importance of guest experience and front of house responsibilities.

β β β β β Beautiful tasty little pizzas with a lovely side salad. A terrific wine tasting lineup where you get to pick your 5. Such an impressive winery, an array of unusual varieties and very high quality. Everything hand done, even the label. Great venue, cafe and outdoor seating And such a lovely dog. Well worth a trip.
