★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is where you would turn off to go one way to Hakataramea and the other to Haldon Station (has a big camping ground, mostly for boaties and fishing) and Black Forest Station, the latter having very good accommodation homes for rent. This Station is also the start of a 4 wheel drive trip taking you though valleys and mountains to Lake Benmore Dam. The road is not for the faint hearted as it is narrow, has big rocks, fords, gates to open and shut and ruts in the road. But the scenery is beautiful. A toll of $20 at the entrance gate and a code to unlock the gate is necessary.
