Absolutely incredible, breathtaking experience. The pictures and videos do not do this justice, you need to see for yourself.

We were very lucky with the weather and a crew. Allara (hopefully I spelled her name right) was absolute star. Very attentive and professional, approachable...

Was a fantastic adventure. I wasn't sure I was going to do this when first looking at suggested options for my whistle stop tour of the South Island. However when we made better progress than first thought, had to skip Milford Sound due to avalanches. I thought I might as well. Absolutely amazing. Unbelievable encounters with dolphins. They look you square in the eye. Dance around you. And then race along with the boat. If only I could post my GoPro videos on here for you to see... You'd jump at the chance to do it.

Amazing time swimming with dusky dolphins! I've swum twice now with this company and it's well worth the price, just make sure to book early as only 16 people can swim per boat and they fill up weeks in advance. Nice boats, warm wetsuits, attentive staff, and they seem very respectful towards the dolphins so no harmful pressure is put on the animals. Kaikoura is a particularly great place to swim as the dusky dolphins in the area are very inquisitive so will come up and interact with you.

Swimming with dolphins was like a childhood dream that was finally coming true! The price is not excessive and the experience was great! My only regret is that my diving mask was not suitable at all, even changing it several times. The water was seeping all the time and I ended up swimming by holding it and going up all the time to see properly. This somewhat upset my experience as I wasting precious time in the water to constantly remove water from my mask. But it was still magic and I was happy ! After the dive, there is also some time to see the dolphins and photograph them, that's cool !

I'm a South Island tour guide and THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST things you can do in the South Island. The Dusky Dolphin populations at Kaikoura are prolific AND they are thoroughly entertaining with their in-air acrobatic flips and social, curious natures underwater as you swim - you are guaranteed an amazing encounter. I have swam with Dolphins in Mauritius, South Africa and Brazil and Dolphin Encounter Kaikoura tops them all. If you're going to swim with dolphins anywhere, do it here. Also don't be deterred by the cold water temps. We did it in winter - there were snow caps on the mountains nearby - it's fresh for sure, but the equipment they supply is incredible - we stayed in the water for 40 mins and felt comfortable. Thanks for the great experience Dolphin Experience.

I was lucky enough to do this and see a lot of dolphins! The trip will take some time and sure makes you sick a bit when the sea is rough. Although this can be hard it's well worth it when you've seen these creatures. The animals were in no way harmed or attracted, it was their own decision and curiosity.
