Really helpful people. Thank God to them, if they weren't there I wouldn't have discover a 4x4 track

My husband and I had four nights in Kaikoura. The drive up from Christchurch was very enjoyable with a few short stops for roadworks. We were amazed at all the engineering that had gone into replacing road, rail and enormous areas of mountainside that have been retained with wire mesh to stop future falls by the earthquake of three years ago. The weather was fine and we visited most areas of interest including a rugby game on Saturday afternoon.

Very disappointing. They were closed on 3rd January. This would be a day I would expect to have lots of tourists in town, but it seems Kaikoura does not want to welcome them with advice. You're on your own. Notice on door, says they are closed on public holidays. Website says they are open 7 days. Also, open time is not till 10am. A but frustrating when you want to plan your day, especially if you come in on the bus that arrives after 4pm.

Love the two female staff on site who were very nice, caring and friendly. Thank you for being chatty and informative. Not to mention the generous discounts on T-shirts we bought from the shop.

Wonderful place to freedom camp in a motorhome or campervan. 5.30pm until 8.30am only 10 parks available each night. Toilets available at the end of the carpark.

They open at 10 am which was bit of an inconvenient to us. We needed some quick information but the i-site was closed. There is lot of parking available. You can book tickets for whale watching at the beach i-site (According to the advertisement outside).
