β β β β β We've just had a fabulous stay in "The Hammock" what a beautiful part of the world and we felt very lucky that the family share their space with guests. Its by far the best "Dog Friendly" accommodation we have stayed at in New Zealand . The attention to detail in the furnishings, kitchen and living area was just awesome, we even had three dog guests visit ours. We will certainly be back and use the kayaks & Dinghy.

β β β β β Such a beautiful place to stay.
We booked this gem at the last minute for an escape. One of the most gorgeous places we have stayed in New Zealand with a stunning view and all the comforts of home included.
A cosy fire pit to toast marshmallows overlooking the sea. We fell asleep in the hammock underneath the Pohutakawa tree.
Just an absolute delight!
An extra bonus that this place is dog friendly.
Recommend 100%.

β β β β β Paradise! The Owen family are among one of the warmest and most generous hosts I have ever had the pleasure of staying with. They really make me feel at home. I have been lucky enough to enjoy Driftwood Seaside Escapes on numerous occasions and it is absolutely stunning each and every time - summer/winter, rain/shine! There is nothing more luxurious than waking up under piles of fluffy blankets mid-winter and looking out over the bay. Bliss!

β β β β β Husband and I have stayed at 'The Bach' for two nights and absolutely loved our time at Driftwood. The house had everything we needed - coffee, good books, BBQ, comfy bed and lots of blankets to snuggle. It was a rainy day in Kerikeri and we enjoyed our evening in this cosy tranquil little space a lot. We also got to meet Vanessa, the owner, as she popped by to leave some extra dishes, and she was very friendly and welcoming. It was nice to find some mags and notes about the best local spots to eat and places to visit - it was our first time in the area and knowing where to start from is always a huge help.

β β β β β Driftwood 2.0 - the journey is worth the destination.
My wife and I have recently returned from a week long submersion at The Bach at Driftwoodβs brand new setting on Oneroa Bay. We have stayed at the original Driftwood site 4 times over the last 8years and loved it, so where a little apprehensive about the new location. Would it be as good. Would it retain that charm and quality? Well we neednβt have been concerned, Vanessa and Richard have taken everything they learned from their years of doing this sort of thing and applied it to the new location and improved on every aspect.
Firstly, donβt let the journey put off, the road up to Driftwood is a gravel road, just take it easy itβs absolutely fine, we did it multiple times in a Golf and it wasnβt an issue... at all, enjoy it for what it is and youβll be there in no time and once you get there you wonβt want to leave!
The Bach has been massively improved on its original name sake, it is amazingly well fitted out with all the modern conveniences from home ... better than my home for that matter haha! Yet it does this clever trick of also feeling paired back and rustic in all the places you need it to be, so clever to thread the fine line between the classic kiwi beach Bach and the modern trappings which weβd all miss if there werenβt there.
Sitting out on the veranda with the sun going down, enjoying a quiet drink, quickly become a hi-light for the day, closely followed by waking up to that view in the morning and enjoying it with a cup of tea, while contemplating a swim in the bay, which is incredible safe for kids or not confident swimmers. Diving off the boat ramp at high tide was great fun and to be encouraged.
You are surrounded by wildlife and youβll hear Kiwi every night, seeing one is also highly likely, and the walk through the forest after sundown is a very satisfying way to walk off your evening barbecue.
We wanted for nothing during our stay, Vanessa has thought of everything and has furnished The Bach beautifully, with a lovely level of comfort and style that will have you wondering where it all came from! The Bach is a generous size with plenty of room to spread out and discover a different aspect to take in the scenery, read a book or watch the horses in the nearby paddock.
Find your way to Driftwood, get off the beaten track and lose yourself in the still and tranquility at the end of the road... you wonβt want to leave, we didnβt!

β β β β β I have traveled around the world, and this is still my favourite corner of it. High recommend for a relaxed beach and new Zealand countryside escape in summer. You might even glimpse a wild kiwi!

β β β β β I was lucky enough to secure a last minute booking at Driftwood, the perfect spot for our seaside escape!
Incredible location. We sailed into the bay and picked up a mooring only 50 metres from the very comfortable Pad, which is nestled in an absolutely idlealic setting. Private beach, native flora and fauna (Kiwis!!) and a gentle sea breeze made for a weekend we won't forget any time soon!
The driftwood team were amazing too! Super welcoming and helpful, and didn't hesitate to lend a hand when we had some unscheduled matanince pop up on our boat!
10 out of 10 fluffy kittens for location, accommodation and hospitality!
Thanks Driftwood! We look forward to our next visit!
