β β β β β Three stars is because the fish and chips were pretty good, great batter and nicely dressed side salad.
The experience was let down by extremely slow service and please donβt think this is because they were short staffed. They seemed to have the right amount of staff but they are not well trained which is unfortunately an issue with hospo staff in Christchurch. One visit to the table to give menus, another visit to bring water another to bring cutlery. The table near us were seated and the waitress asked if they wanted menusβ¦. What else would they be there for? The table next to us had three visits to clear it and then when the next people came it still hadnβt been wiped down. Just a lot of things that are easy to fix. There were mix ups happening at other tables with their food as wellβ¦. these all appeared to be easily avoidable.
There may have been a lack of staff to make drinks maybe as the wait was excessive. Iβd finished my meal by the time our second drink arrived and wished we had cancelled it.
Also worth noting that the bathrooms were not overly clean.
Disappointed as it was such a beautiful day and this experience unfortunately was similar to another time we dined at Dux Dine.

Drinks came out with melted ice, food was lukewarm - wouldn't bother again.

β β β β β I used to eat in here quite often before leaving CHCH in 2013. The place looks the same, nothing has changed. We ordered salmon orange curry and salmon pizza. Curry tasted great, but pizza was average. Next time, I will avoid pizza.

β β β β β If you enjoy vegetarian fare or fish then this is the place for you. Pleasant surroundings a varied menu and polite helpful staff.
We went as a large group so preselected from the menu. I had a tomato pasta dish augmented with prawns. The serving was adequate. The sauce had just the right amount of heat and the prawns - char grilled, where delicious.
Overall very satisfied.

β β β β β 2 hours for mains to come out at my bottomless brunch that ended after 2 hours and this was the main. The fish was so small Iβm my fish burger and one lady was lovely but acted like we were so inconvenient when the bottomless brunch was $65 . Also cut off the wine after 1:30 when it was 2 hours of wine. Kinda disappointing.

β β β β β Being vegetarian ourselves, we have been to Dux Dine many times, usually for dinners.
Thanks to GrabOne coupons for βlunch platter for 2β, we decided to try these out. My wife and I shared the vegetarian lunch platter while another couple shared the seafood platter.
The food was delicious and sumptuous, with plenty of variety within the platter(s). The service by Sierra and others was pleasant and courteous. In summary, it was a delightful lunch experience!
