★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If your visiting the Milford Sound area you have to stay here. It’s in the most beautiful secluded area only 40 min from Milford Sound, and 20 min from the Key Summit trail. The host was incredible and gave us lots of advice and weather forecast info. The Queen room is spacious, very clean, and comfortable. Awesome shower, bed and VIEWS. So happy we were able to score a room here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent campsite. The girl at the reception (we forgot her name) was extremely helpful with weather updates and hiking information.
Hot showers do run out if too many people have showered consecutively. So do wait for a tad. Otherwise we had everything we needed. A nice campsite, full shower and toilet facilities, everything is really nice and clean. The kitchen was also well equipped.
We liked and are giving this place five stars not solely because of the facilities but also the general vibe and location of the property. We stayed one night at Milford sound Lodge and although they were even more equipped with their facilities, it was a tad too touristy and crowded for our tastes.
We had a really pleasant stay at knobs flat. Thank you!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I stayed here 8/2/21. The perfect location for anyone wanting a base to explore Milford. Facilities are clean and tidy, showers are piping hot.
Friendly and helpful staff. I really enjoyed my walk up to the waterfall, I even made a friend of a South Island Robin during my walk.
Such a special place, I am so grateful to have had the chance to stay.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ To be honest we thought being in the middle of nowhere would mean run down and cobwebby bathrooms etc...we were wrong! The toilet and showers were clean and tidy, the kitchen had everything you needed and the hot water flowed almost instantly. What was great was the bug screens that kept out the bugs so you were relatively safe indoors from those pesky sandflies.
We were pretty lucky that there were only a couple of others the first night and we were the only ones there the second night. Waking up to the birds and mountains around us was truly magical. Being out of cell reception was bliss...we could enjoy the area without feeling that attachment to our phone.
It's a fantastic place to stay if you're going to Milford sounds...a much shorter drive in the morning to enjoy the scenery, yet close enough to Te Anau to get any forgotten supplies etc.
Staying here was the best start to our week long trip down South, the place is well looked after and you can tell there is pride in keeping it that way.
Thank you!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Rested here overnight after completing the Routeburn Track before the long drive back to Queenstown. Spectacular view from our room, super clean and quiet. The managers were super lovely and welcoming. Highly recommend staying here if you need to do a pitstop.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A lovely spot nestled close to Milford! Clean toilets and really great showers. Make sure to take a lot of bug spray though!! (Sandfly heaven) Would stay here again if we were heading back to Milford ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We absolutely loved it.
Have never met camp owners/managers so lovely and welcoming.
We stayed on a tent site, perfect lawn/ground to pitch a tent on.
Very clean, well kept lawns and gardens, kitchen utensils and facilities are great (I'll add some pictures)
Very affordable and in a great location.
Will certainly be back, actually, I can't wait to come back!
Please don't confuse this accommodation with the doc toilets on the property in front.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We didn't know what to expect, but were pleasantly surprised at how awesome this spot is. Lovely views and the facilities were spotless! Great hot showers and a kitchen that has everything you need. With it being right in the middle of Te Anau and Milford Sound, it's a great place to spend the night (we spent two). There's no cell reception and their website is a little bit weird to book through, I just called them and all was booked and sorted within a matter of minutes. Highly recommend staying here.
