 It was a real place to be the most beautiful trekking course in the world.

This is the starting point of the Milford Truck, which is called "the most beautiful promenade in the world". There was an excellent Trekkin route 54km, 33.5 miles from here to the Sandfly Point, 3 nights 4 days.

ニュージーランドでも有数のフィヨルド地帯の大自然33.5マイル＝約54kmを仲間約50人と歩く人気のトレッキングコースに参加しました
1888年にクィンティン･マッキンノンが拓いたもので、グレイドハウス〜ポンポローナ小屋〜マッキンノン峠越えでクィンティン小屋〜ミルフォードサウンドにあるマイターピークロッジの日程で歩きます。最後に一人一人完歩証授与があり、一緒に歩いた仲間やガイドへ英語でスピーチをします。
クィーンズタウン（ゴールドラッシュで栄えた頃、女王が住むのに相応しい景勝地として名付けられ、ワカティプ湖畔にある。ベンローモンド登山、ショットオーバーリバーでのスリル満点のジェットボートやラフティング、バンジーなどアクティブが楽しめる場所）でのガイダンスからスタート。
年間の2/3は雨が降ると言われる南島で、ブナの原生林を自分のペースで歩きながら2001年元旦のゴールを目指しました。
1日目はテアナウタウンズから船でスタート地点のトレイルヘッドに移動。

Participated in a popular trekking course with about 50 friends walking 33.5 miles = about 54 km of nature in one of New Zealand's fjord areas
It was pioneered by Quintin McKinnon in 1888, and walks on the dates of Grade House-Pomporona Hut-Cintin Hut over the McKinnon Pass-Milford Sound at Miter Peak Lodge. At the end, each person will be given a completion certificate and will give a speech in English to the friends and guides who walked with them.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ You need to get in early to book the huts on this track. There is also a more expensive option of doing guided walk where you can stay in lodges. Be prepared for rain as it can rain very heavily but when it does the mountain sides turn into waterfalls. The walk is in one direction so you will be with the same group over 3 days. When you arrive at a hut grab a free bunk and put your name and booking number down on the registration sheet. All huts have flushing toilets and igniting gas cookers. I found the track a bit hard on my knees so hiking poles may be a good idea. You don’t need to carry much water as there is plenty of streams along the track.

Beautiful scenery
The huts had good facilities especially the new mintaro hut.
A must do for beginner hikers, it will test you mentally and physically depending on the weather
Will definitely walk again.
