★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The mains parrillada is great value for money, the lamb and steak(skirt?) were among the most tender and beautifully cooked I’ve had in a long while. The charcoal flavour came through without overpowering the meats unlike some places. 10/10

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The $16 lunch special is worth the money. Meat quality is average but the cooking skills compensate it, and we shall take into consideration that it's only $16. They charge $2 for spice / sauce, which would be great if provided for free.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wauw, wauw, wauw! I never write reviews but this restaurants deserve an amazing review! I wish I could give the restaurant 10 stars! The meat was so tender and so tasty, it was a big amount of food for a small price! We got the lunch special with 3 different meat with a side of fries or salad. I ordered the one with fries and chimichurri and ordered half way eating the cimichurri again. Highly reccomend to go to El Fogon if you feel like a good big meal and tasty flavors ??

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the best steak houses I ever visited. I was impressed by its juiciness and tenderness on a glance and while cutting the meat. Pricewise, 37 dollars for 400g of Angus Ribeye sounds reasonable. Or else, you have other more affordable options which I have not tried and can not guarantee the outcome. It is definitely worth visiting here once if you are a traveler.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is magnificent. El Fogon Grill a regular every time we visit Christchurch and we order the Parrillada... a bonanza medley of BBQ'd meat for two. Ankush the chef is a masterchef.... cooking the meat to perfection. Thank you guys. My top pick for casual dining in Christchurch.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have bought the same Brisket menu with Pure rustico for the last 4 weeks, being to go. Unfortunately the last two occasions have been quite disappointing. 2 weeks ago, the amount of meat was less than usual and it was very dry, which I noticed when I got home. And yesterday, Sunday 05/22, I ordered 2 brisket with 4 portions of rustic puree, the sauce did not come. disappoint.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We ordered mixed grill of assorted meat to share - well-marinated, full of spices, smokey flavour, complemented with traditional chimichurri sauce, nicely dressed salad, and crunchy chips. Reminded me of the time I had meaty Parrillas on a street in Buenos Aires. A glass of Mate would accompany it well.
