β β β β β Super disappointing. Steak was undercooked twice; asked for MR, first time it was blue, second time was rare. It was covered in pepper which was overpowering and was tough and grisly. The bone marrow entre was way too big; itβs too rich to be eaten in large quantities. The staff were apologetic and gave us our drinks free so that was nice, but was still a disappointing experience. I am also very very skeptical that they have a charcoal grillβ¦.

β β β β β Consistently good quality food. Been here many times and recommend trying at least once for char grilled meats. Decent quantity of side salad too. The front door being left open made it cold.

β β β β β Our first visit to Jaba Grill. Never written a bad review for any other restaurant in the past but I am unable to stop myself from writing this. This is more of a feedback than a complaint. Me, my wife and my daughter went there. My daughter ordered Kids combo with Chicken wings, we ordered a Chicken Surf and a Asian style Beef salad. The Fried Chicken wings looked so horrible my daughter wanted that plate taken away from the table straight away. She ended having just the Vanilla Ice cream. My wife couldn't eat the Salad because of the chewy beef fillets and the overpowering Barbeque sauce, I couldn't enjoy my Chicken Grill because it was salty, dry and stringy. All three of us left Jaba Grill with empty stomach.

β β β β β Great food, staff, and owner! We had a great new year's dinner here. And the best steak so far we have ever had in NZ. I'm glad we chose this restaurant for new year, it was a fun night that we almost didn't want to leave. Thanks for that great night! We will definitely be back again :)

All the meals are delicious, whether itβs beef, lamb, French fries or desserts, the prices are very reasonable, but the quality of the meals and service are excellent value for money, the waiter who ordered us was very kind and also served us I recommended red wine suitable for steak, and our family is quite satisfied with this restaurant.

β β β β β Absolutely incredible experience. highly recommend this place for steak and dessert lovers, I had a T-bone steak that came with a bone marrow and it was cooked to perfection, finished with an amazing brownie splashed with a bubbling caramel sauce plus they offer the best customer service, their staff is very professional and very knowledgeable of the meals. If I may add the Chef/Owner was very friendly and I had the pleasure to hear his humble beginnings. Over all it was a great time and I thank Jay and his team for delivering a quality experience and luxurious food, will definitely come back for more. ?

Tomahawk steak was soooooo good (have to preorder $80 / 800 grams)
All steaks comes with bone marrow - fatty goodness.
The salmon entree was pretty good too. Unique taste to it.
Honestly winter is pretty sad here so this really made me happy!

β β β β β Absolutely delicious dinner. Went out to celebrate a recent achievement and we definitely overordered but every bite was brilliant. Steaks cooked over coals is a great draw card and something that really makes the food that little bit extra. I'd say this is my favourite place for steaks in Christchurch hands down. Not cheap but well worth it. I'd also recommend the bone marrow, breads and dips, duck fat potatoes and ribs. Just everything I ate was amazing. And the parsnip puree and parsnip chips is a great accompaniment to the steak.
