Unreal. Couldn't recommend it more. Favourite dish was the venison with goats cheese, sumac onions and radish

Went in for the traditional tapas, came out full of the juiciest steak ever. If going down the meat and roasted tates route, I would recommend one side two people (if in doubt, pick the caramelised carrots with honey and feta!) Great for both small and large groups with an amazing staff to assist.

Stepping into the restaurant I was immediately greeted by the wonderful smell of bbq smoke. I’d been anticipating a genuine Argentinian wood fire grilled steak for some time and was not disappointed. I had a Cuadril (rump steak) medium rare. It’s a handsome portion of steak, salad and wedges. I enjoyed all three. My partner was not taken with the wedges. Highly recommend trying El Matador. No reservation required. However, it is busy so plan to arrive early (5-5:45pm) for immediate seating. Later and you either need to wait or try again.

Love this place! This is a true taste of Argentina with great red wine and beautiful steaks. You have to be a meat lover to really enjoy this restaurant. No table bookings, but we were willing to wait an hour at the restaurant bar (or a different bar) for the waitress to call us. I love the full-bodied Spanish wine like the Trapiche Malbec or the Temperanillo (similar to a shiraz). I've been to this place several times and never had a bad meal. Love the vibe, the service is friendly and efficient and the decor is Spanish rustic. On this occasion, I had the scotch steak with salad and no potatoes, and added the beetroot and feta tapas dish on the side instead. The steak was huge and cooked perfectly, the salad was fresh and generous, and the beetroot and feta was amazing. I was so stuffed afterwards. Would highly recommend!

Simply outstanding. Ordered the ribs to start then the 1.1kg ribeye for the three of us, with the baby carrots, and salad. Couldn't fault this place. The decor, the staff the food. Simply best in class. Can't wait to go back.

Cosy place with a rustic casual ambience, noise level was good, you can have a conversation without shouting even when it's busy. Unless you are particularly keen on tapas, I'd recommend keeping it simple and just go straight for the Wood Fired Steaks, which come with salad and potatoes. We ordered a range of tapas too, and they were generally fine, except the lamb loin, which was pricey for the relatively small portion. If you must have tapas and want red meat, try the beef short rib instead. But the Wood Fired Steaks are the best value on the menu and I'll return for a casual dinner and have just that next time.

A popular venue that usually has a queue waiting to get a table for dinner. Service was slick and safe and the paella didn't disappoint (NB: this takes 40 minutes to prepare). The crowning glory were the churros. The absolute best I have ever tasted anywhere! These alone were worth 5 stars.

Our first time dining at El Matador. We had a great experience. Friendly and efficient staff. Fantastic menu with great variety of tapas covering vegetarian, vegan, GF, seafood, meat etc. We went for a selection of tapas which came out quite quickly. We had the option of having them as they were ready, all together or spaced out. Every dish was absolutely delicious. Full of flavor and cooked to perfection. Stand out for me were the beef cheeks. I would add that the sizing of the tapas is generous. Each one would easily suffice for a main size meal so we could have ordered less dishes. Would pay to ask staff how big the dishes you are ordering might be. Atmosphere suits the type of restaurant. Will definitely go back for more!
