★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awesome spot, good boat launching facilities, plenty of flat ground amongst the trees for pitching a tent. Views of the Southern Alps from the water are just magic.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Peaceful outside normal holiday season. Last two weeks of February my preferred visiting dates.
Update: the regional Council has razed most of the campsite to the ground because it became a fire hazard. Very sad. Still able to camp there but barren.The lake is still beautiful.
