β β β β β A friend of mine used to work here she told me that she often felt overworked and she didnβt have any proper breaks (only two 10 min breaks) sometimes she didnβt get any breaks at all, she also told me that the owners/managers relied too much on staff and the cafe was very short staffed which probably explains the lack of breaks. I found this quite disturbing. Management is also quite bad too, which was very obvious when I decided to visit about a month agoβ¦ I asked for two sugars in my coffee and it still tasted really bitter Iβm not sure whether they had put the sugar in my coffee. The food was also very bland I asked for a refund and they gave it to me very reluctantly after trying to convince me to try one of their dessertβs instead. The atmosphere felt very forced as if they were trying too hard to make everything seem perfect when it obviously wasnβt. I heard some FOH staff swearing which made things a little uncomfortable and I noticed other customers were waiting for quite some time for their meals. The only good thing at this cafe is the ceramic arts which I found pretty neat but also a little overpriced especially for the smaller stuff like the ceramic necklaces which were very bulky looking anywaysβ¦ I do not recommend at all.

β β β β β A great cafe with ceramics and paintings for sale. Huge carpark and lovely gardens with an impressive gazebo. Indoor outdoor tables. A great place to go to. A destination cafe for sure! We were also impressed by the extensive vinyards at Greta Valley.

β β β β β Wonderful Cafe with great decor. The food and tea was very good but the highlight for us was the history of the Cafe and how it was transformed from an ugly building into a stylish Cafe and gallery. You have to read the book they have about their transition. The artist/owner Kim Henderson has work displayed and a very interesting book of her life and art, the stories are told with fantastic drawings and lots of humor. Kim and staff are very friendly and fun to be around. A must see if passing the area. 1

β β β β β Stopped at this cafe and had the chocolate brownie. It was so lovely sitting outside in the sun amongst the tidy, lush gardens. The staff were really friendly and cheerful. The brownie was delicious, seved warm and with cream. A lovely vibe at this place and I look forward to calling in again. My sister stopped recently and her kids enjoyed the playground at the rear of the building.

β β β β β Friendly staff make you feel welcome. We have stopped a few times for coffee on the run, the coffee and fries are great. We are intending to go back for lunch as the cabinet food looked very appetising, and hopefully they have some hidden gems on the menu as well. Dog friendly which for us is bonus.

β β β β β Great cafe and gallery just off the main road, and well worth the visit. Had the big breakfast, can highly recommend if you are hungry. Great meal, a good example of a Kiwi Breakfast. Great way to start my trip north, thanks so much.

β β β β β Took my classic car for a run with a mate up to Fossil Point Cafe.
Highly recommend the Seafood Chowder. Best there is.
Went up with the Austin Healey Club a couple of weeks later when our trip to Arthur's Pass got cancelled owing to road closure.
Kim and Kerry hosted 16 of us at short notice and provided stellar service and great lunch.

β β β β β Stumbled across this little cafe while out geocaching and thought it would be the perfect place to stop for some refreshments and it certainly was. What a little diamond, staff are so so friendly, take the time to engage with you like your old friends over for a visit. The food was delicious. As a vegan I don't often find something I can eat and when I do the flavour just isn't always there. Not true for here though, the samosa I had was bursting with flavour from the very first bite. I really can't rate it enough. The cafe is also very clean and as a wonderful atmosphere, highly recommend.
