It's approximately a 45 mins drive from Queenstown (windy road).
Not much in the town itself, but a calamity of the lake, pier and shore is unmatched in nz.
Lots of "insta" worthy photos. Because it's a bit out of Queenstown, it's a lot quieter too!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ BREATHTAKING. That‘s all there is to say about Glenorchy. The drive from Queenstown to Glenorchy is wonderful (and even better to continue onwards to Paradise!). The mountains, the lake, the little town - it‘s just a fantastic day trip!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Definitely worth the 45 minute from queenstown. The scenery on the drive is stunning, really really stunning... Just make sure you go to the loo before leaving as it longdrops along the way and there at the public toilets...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place will take your breath away, truly 'Gates of Paradise'. we enjoyed a fantastic day with a toddler here, perfect for a picnic, a quick dip, some gram photos or just a chill morning / afternoon with incredible scenery. Worth the drive from Queenstown, just the drive will wow you. There is also a Tesla charging station close by.
