My name is Karen and I am a qualified Natural Health Practitioner and Registered Clinical Nutritionist on a mission to help others to regain their health and wellbeing!

My love of helping others has stemmed from ill health myself since a teenager.  After reluctantly finishing my career as a beautician and being fobbed off by the medical world with no answers for any of my ailments I began my journey on the road to recovery through self-research within the natural health field and have since completed many years of study and exams to get me where I am today.  I have suffered with many health conditions on my journey including coeliac disease.

Over the past 16 plus years of owning my natural health clinic and working with my clients, I have been amazed at how making simple changes to one’s diet and lifestyle can have profound effects on health. I have used this approach with many of my clients along with supplements and other health modalities to treat the "whole person". 

The words of Hippocrates . . . "Let food be thy medicine and let medicine be thy food" certainly makes sense!

Specialising in gut health, I found that most of my client’s digestive and intestinal health issues were caused by food sensitivities and intolerances. I have done countless food sensitivity tests over the years many of which came back as gluten being the main concern. As a coeliac myself, this made sense to me as I know how bad I feel when even the most minute amount of gluten sneaks into my diet!

Of course, gluten wasn’t always the only concern. Dairy, soy, nuts, sugar, and many other foods can commonly be problematic. Restricted diets are not fun and that is why I feel very excited to be able to continue the good work that Ricki and Jamie Lunam have done with Gluten Free Me to bring a wider variety of speciality diet foods to the people of New Zealand! I am also available for dietary advise so please don’t be shy, I would love to meet you!
