Nice easy walk around hills. Beautiful views right up the east coast. Path is very well maintained! Ashame the council can't sort out the WW2 exhibit that's apparently ridden with asbestos. Would of loved to have actually walked around to have a look!

I've walked this maybe 10 times - nice and easy - though for some last climb to gun emplacement will be harder , Points to note no water on trail , no seating except near beginning an grass banks and rocks. Can be slippery when wet. Late afternoon sun and view to Kiakouras is spectacular. Happy walking. Road there narrow no public transport

It's relatively flat and has good facilities. Taylors mistake car park can be busy on public weekends

This is a 3 hour loop track hugging the cliff of the Godley Head. You’re basically walking all the way to the tip of the landmass in the photos, then climbing uphill inland towards a war relic where you can see even beyond Christchurch towards Akaroa. You’ll go further uphill and see a historical cabin, and then you’ll reach a small carpark labeled Godley Head carpark on Google maps. Across the road the track continues on a MTB trail before looping back to Taylor Mistake Beach. I’m giving the details here because at some points you can’t see the next trail marker and it can be tricky figuring out the direction to walk for the loop. Hope this helps someone (: it was 100% worth the view. It can be windy so bring something warm.

Really nice walk. Went early to avoid meeting too many other people. Took some of the lower paths to get a good look down into the bays. Keen to do again whenever back here.

Beautiful easy/medium hike. Takes about 3 to 4 hours to do the loop depending on your speed. And if you are running it's even more quicker. You can do mountain biking on certain part of track. The hike has stunning view of the sea. Does gets windy someday but otherwise a lovely family spot. Mostly exposed area but you can find some places or shed under tree to seat and enjoy.
