★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tge first money option comfortable accommodation in Waihi town center, big kitcken & dinner, the rooms are all upstaies, not very big, bed ware are very clean. Have pull table & dart. Quiet rooms are inside.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just average. Food standard varies and while accommodation is available I personally would not want to sleep there. It's a very old wooden building in poor condition and would probably be dangerous if there was a fire.

Was cheap and we found a room last minute
Basic backpacker style hotel, all amenities were there and staff was good.
Kitchen was freezing in the morning so were all the corridors. There was not a single spoon in the kitchen. No salt pepper or tea coffee or sugar milk. Literally nothing other than a few plates and bowls

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very clean and good value for money. Had a comfortable stay. The couple who own the place were cordial and polite.
They asked for a 10 dollar refundable deposit for the room key and a 5 dollars refundable deposit for each towel, which was a bit strange compared to other places I have stayed in New Zealand, but I suppose this might be due to several incidents of guests forgetting to return the keys and the towels?
The room which was allocated to us had a standing fan too, which made the summer more comfortable.
Will recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ???❎IT WAS A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE I EVER HAD. THE OWNER IS VERRRRRRYYYY GREEDY, WE LOST OUR $600 FOR 6 nights without staying there. I will never never recommend this hotel to anyone. The room is small and dirty, kitchen stuff is not good, everything was terrible and not a safe place to stay while you are in vacation. HORRIBLE!. Please be careful eveyone. Make sure you chose hotel a good which you can relax and not a GREEDY OWNER. Again GOLDEN CROSS is not GOOD TO EVERYONE AND AGAIN OWNER IS GREEDY AS GREEDY AS GREEDY????

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Watch out! Jennifer is deceitful and will try and rip you off.
I booked on Air B n B and she messaged me to tell me they had no rooms left and that I needed to cancel my reservation. I then sent her a screenshot saying that she needs to cancel, not me, because if I cancel like she asked she still gets one nights worth of accommodation out of me as a cancellation fee.
She then refused to cancel and I had to log a support case with Air B n B and report her sneaky actions.
Do not stay here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Such a rip off for a tiny room the size of box. So disgusting and dirty I left there with scabs all over my body from staying there. The hotels muggy and I boiled in my room at night. Stinks like cigarettes and is so old and yuck. Kitchen is disgusting same goes with the bathrooms the whole place is dirty. I don’t recommend this place at all you’ll definitely get sick there. Please don’t stay here.
